Complete story — includes the ending

As their wedding approaches, Tony Micelli and Angela Bower experience a rough patch, bickering constantly over everything from doubles tennis to restaurant choices. Meanwhile, Samantha's presence keeps her husband, Hank, from focusing on his urgent college studies. To give the engaged couple some breathing room and help Hank study, Mona Robinson takes Angela and Samantha away for a luxury weekend getaway at a posh spa resort. While at the resort, Angela, Mona, and Samantha are shocked to encounter Tom Saratelli (played by Tony Danza in a dual role), a wealthy gentleman guest who looks exactly like Tony, distinguished only by a mustache, Despite sharing Tony’s face and charm, Tom possesses an entirely opposite, passive, and highly refined personality. Initially, Angela is deeply attracted to Tom's smooth, high-society demeanour and the effortless way he handles conflicts, viewing him as a version of Tony without any of his frustrating faults. Back at home, a paranoid Tony remains behind with Jonathan Bower. Convinced that Angela is out meeting other men, Tony drives himself crazy with jealousy. Jonathan acts as the voice of reason, reassuring Tony that he knows Angela better than anyone and that her loyalty is unshakeable. As the weekend progresses, Angela spends more time with Tom at the country club and on the tennis courts. However, she soon realizes that his passive nature and lack of emotional fire leave her completely cold. She recognizes that she misses Tony's energetic, fiery temper and realizes she loves him exactly as he is, flaws included. Angela rejects the polished doppelgänger, eager to return home to the real Tony.
