Plot summary

1. This is Chicago!

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Frank (William H. Macy) tells a documentarian about the Gallagher family's history with Chicago, which was involved in many events. Frank himself admits he was involved with the Chicago Seven, barely avoiding arrest. Despite the fact that the documentarian is involved in gentrification, Frank continues talking about the history of South Side.

Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Tami (Kate Miner) are now living at the rented house with Fred, but they continue working on the renovations. Tami is also worried about Lip's job, as she feels they will not earn enough money for their expenses. Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) continue living at the Gallagher household, with Ian now working at a warehouse. Despite the poor salary, Ian hopes to save enough money so they can buy a house for themselves. However, he discovers that Mickey took some of their wedding savings to buy stuff, upsetting him. Ian considers that they should practice monogamy to save their marriage, although Mickey is not familiar with the idea.

Debbie (Emma Kenney) is now in the sex offender registry, and is forced to wear an ankle monitor. She starts a welding business, but struggles to find job due to her status. She is disgusted when she finds that the registry mislabeled her by claiming she raped a 7-year-old. Sandy (Elise Eberle) uses her mugshot to promote her, earning her some customers. Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) is training in the police academy to become an officer, earning the respect of his superiors as he nears his graduation day. Kevin (Steve Howey) and Veronica (Shanola Hampton) begin selling hash brownies, while Kevin continues finding success with his workout business. After ingesting brownies, Tommy (Michael Patrick McGill) and Kermit (Jim Hoffmaster) have a sexual encounter in the bathroom.

Ian and Mickey discuss their possible solution to their relationship, but are unable to reach a conclusion. The family visits Lip and Tami at their house to eat pizzas, as well as helping them in painting their house. The episode ends with Frank vandalizing a political endorsement bench, which now reads "Fuck 2020."

2. Go Home, Gentrifier!

Having graduated, Carl begins his first day as a police officer. He is paired with veteran officer Arthur Tipping, but is bored with his lazy and non-aggressive personality. Carl grows frustrated when he learns that a friend had the chance to get involved in a fight.

Ian tells Mickey that he must find a job as they cannot afford anything with Ian's salary, declaring that he will not have sex with him until he finds one. Mickey dismisses the threat, but eventually relents when he finds an infomercial. He applies for Ian's job at the warehouse, but the interviewer is not convinced by his behavior. Debbie starts preparing Franny's 5th birthday party; she wants a princess themed party, even though Franny is not interested in that. When the party ends up a failure, Debbie finally admits to Sandy (Elise Eberle) that she wanted the party for herself, as she never had a proper birthday party as a child.

When their marijuana starts running out, Kevin and Veronica partner with Frank in a business venture, wherein Frank can get them marijuana from his contact. The first operation is a success, and they split their earnings in three equal parts. Nevertheless, Frank says he wants 50%, which Veronica refuses. Tommy and Kermit (Jim Hoffmaster) now sit in the opposite ends of the Alibi after their sexual encounter, but do not disclose it to anyone. Lip and Tami find that their house has been vandalized, discovering that their neighbors are responsible. They explain that the renovations will lead to an increase in rent and taxes in the neighborhood, prompting Lip and Tami to make graffitis at their house.

Carl makes Arthur invite him to a drink, and is surprised when Arthur excessively drinks. However, while having sex with a woman, Arthur has a heart attack and is taken by an ambulance. To get money, Mickey steals expired items to prison and sells them, giving him more money than Ian, who is facing a cut salary at the warehouse. Unwilling to cooperate with Frank, Veronica forces Kevin to accompany her and get the marijuana from Frank's contact. To their surprise, Frank has already bought most of her product with his earnings. Feeling betrayed, he warns them that if they want to continue their venture, his share is now 70%.

3. Frances Francis Franny Frank

After being hired to work at a wealthy woman's house, Debbie hurriedly leaves the house without taking Franny to school. Liam prepares to take Franny to school, but eventually allows Frank to take her. When he takes her to the wrong school, he decides to take her with him for the day.

While having sex with Ian, Mickey decides to change positions, leading an argument between both over who is the "man". They go their separate ways, trying to ask people in their inner circles over who is better. When Ian's boss wants him to work during his lunch break with no payment, Ian lashes out at him and quits his job. Ian and Mickey get into a fight at the Alibi, until Veronica separates them. Kevin uses his new business venture to buy expensive items for his family, but ends up with his new car stolen. Mickey offers himself to make the sure Kevin's shipments are delivered in time and without being stolen, and Kevin accepts.

Carl meets his new partner, Leesie Janes. While Carl is fascinated that she is committed to her job, he is surprised when she shoplifts, puts civilians in risk, brutally assaults a criminal, and then uses police brutality to get the criminal to testify. When he asks her about her tactics, she says that she only cares about justice, no matter the cost. Lip and Tami console Brad and Cami when their baby experiences severe health problems. Lip offers to pay for the surgery, but Brad kindly turns him down. Frank takes Franny with him to convince his contacts in reducing the fees for the marijuana supplies, while also bonding with his granddaughter.

As he takes her to get a tattoo, Frank experiences confusion over his state. When Franny tells him that she does not want to wear a beauty pageant dress that Debbie wants her to attend, Frank tells her that even if she dislikes it, she should do it to appease her mother.

Debbie steals food from the wealthy woman's house to serve at Franny's school, discovering that she never got to school. She and Sandy (Elise Eberle) drive through town looking for Franny, after learning that she was with Frank. During this, Debbie is called by the woman, who called the police after discovering she stole from her; she will not report her, but fires her nevertheless. Noticing Frank and Franny in the street, Debbie takes her and scolds Frank for his actions. At the house, she reprimands Liam for abandoning Franny. The family defends Liam, with Lip telling Debbie that she must take responsibility for her daughter, calling her a bad mother. As she cries in her room, Debbie is visited by Franny, who has decided to wear the dress after being convinced by Frank.

4. NIMBY

The Gallaghers are shocked to discover that Terry and his neo-Nazi family has moved next door, as Terry has bribed the 90-year-old owner with sex. Frank intends to get rid of the Milkovich family, but only Kevin and Liam accept to help him, as the rest do not believe they will ever leave.

Debbie takes Franny (Paris Rose Newton) to the Little Miss South Side contest. However, Veronica has also taken Gemma to compete, causing friction between both. They try to sabotage each other behind the stage, and then deliver speeches where they reveal the other's criminal records. Eventually, neither Franny or Gemma win, as the judges declare a Syrian girl with Spina Bifida as the winner. Nevertheless, Alderman Jenkins is impressed by Veronica's speech, and offers her a job at his staff. Lip accompanies Tami have lunch with her former teacher, Marcos Hanisian. Lip is worried over their dynamics, and is shocked when Tami reveals she used to date him. Tami defends her decision, until Marcos visits their house with his 17-year-old fiancé.

Mickey convinces Ian to join him in securing the marijuana for Kevin and Veronica. Ian is worried that Mickey wants to use illegal methods for the job, and worries that they might violate their parole. Instead, they buy military gear to transport the marijuana. There, the supplier is impressed by their backgrounds, and offers them a job as security heads at the organization, where they would each receive $1,000 per day. Carl and Janes respond to a loitering complaint, confronting the suspicious Miss June (Roxy Wood). When she tries to bribe them with cigarettes, Janes becomes aggressive and forces her to give up her belongings.

Later, they bust a house suspected of selling drugs, and Carl runs into an old criminal friend, Solo. Janes wants to plant drugs, but Carl convinces her in just arresting two people at the house. That night, a guilty Carl returns the belongings to Miss June, suggesting her to use a different route.

After failing to convince people to attack the Milkovich family, Frank decides that they must infiltrate the house and get a confession out of the landlord. As Kevin distracts the Milkovich at their porch, Frank and Liam sneak through the backdoor, and Liam enters the house, finding the landlord in bed. He records her with his phone to get a confession that calls out Terry, but she instead gloats that they have good sex. That night, they are further annoyed when more Milkovich family members arrive and camp in the empty lot next to their house, causing even more noise.

5. Slaughter

After the Milkoviches leave a box with feces at his doorstep, Frank once again visits Kevin to plan a new strategy. Kevin backs out after witnessing a family member mark a swastika with a fire iron, so Frank decides that he must kill the landlord so the family can be evicted.

Lip and Tami are confused when a city worker places a "for sale" sign in front of their house. Lip realizes that on top of not paying the full ownership of the house, he is not the legitimate owner as he never signed any papers. They are forced to look for new houses, and Tami takes an interest in a house with an affordable price. They are given a tour, although Lip and the realtor do not disclose something. When they go to the Alibi Room, Kevin finally reveals the truth; the house was the site of a brutal family murder, something that Lip knew. While shocked, Tami looks determined in buying the house. Liam (Christian Isaiah) is disturbed by the presence of the Milkoviches in the neighborhood, and grows even more scared when he discovers they broke into his house and left a deer's head in his bedroom.

While transporting marijuana, Ian and Mickey are robbed by gunmen. One of these is Lou, Mickey's cousin. They are unable to fight back, as Ian forced themselves to not carry weapons. To prevent another robbery, they decide to use another vehicle. For this, they call an ambulance and steal it while the paramedics are called away. Finding a dead man in the back, they dump it near a bridge. When Sandy (Elise Eberle) becomes a little distant, Debbie places a tracker on her bag. She follows her to a strip club, but is denied access.

She confronts Sandy at home, who reveals she has been driving people for money, and that she lives in her car. She also reveals that she is married, and her husband has been trying to reach her. Veronica starts canvassing Black constituents to vote for a rent control bill, only to find out for herself how scarce black people are in this new gentrified Chicago. When she finally finds a woman, she is disappointed when she refuses to vote for her own cause.

Carl and Leesie respond to a shoplifting call, and Leesie threatens the kid with chopping his hand off if he does it again. When the kid once again robs with a gun, Leesie accidentally injures herself, forcing Carl to chase him. He catches him, but states he will protect him if he stops robbing. At the shop, Lip and Brad are informed by the new owners that their salaries will be cut. When Lip complains, he is fired, prompting him to assault his superior. To get the Milkovich family out of the house, Frank forms a rally so he can kill the landlord.

He unplugs her life support, but she is still alive and attacks him, forcing him to flee. Due to the rally's noise, Liam finally steps up and goes outside with a gun, shooting it in the air to proclaim he is not afraid. The bullet falls back and hits Terry (Dennis Cockrum) in the head.

6. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good....Eh, Screw It

At night, Lip, Brad and Mickey sneak into the shop, stealing equipment and $3,000 from the owners' office. However, Mickey is frustrated that neither Lip or Brad have a contingent plan on where to sell the parts without being traced. They are forced to hide the equipment at the Keg Zone after Kevin agrees to cover for them.

Terry returns from the hospital, now paralyzed and forced to use a wheelchair. Due to his disgusting nature, his family refuses to let him enter the house and just leave him in the sidewalk. When Mickey walks by, he expresses his anger towards Terry and holds a weapon against his chest, but cannot bring himself to pull the trigger. Subsequently, he and Ian help Terry reach his house's porch, but leave him outside as the door is locked. Liam is haunted by his role in Terry's condition after learning he was responsible for the bullet. As he asks others for help in penance, he finally admits his actions to Carl. While Carl is proud of his brother's actions, he tells him to hide the gun.

Frank has sex with a woman named Letty, but he constantly calls her "Monica". While picking up marijuana, he is punched and taken to the hospital. Noticing his speech pattern, the nurse asks him a few questions. When Frank cannot recall three words she told him, she decides to run a few more tests on him. Later, Frank runs into Terry at the porch, who asks him to kill him, but Frank refuses. Tami discovers about the robbery and confronts Lip about it. He opens up about how he is always negatively impacted no matter what decision he takes, but accepts that he cannot become a criminal for his family.

Veronica accompanies Amy and Gemma to school after being selected as class parent of the day. However, she is horrified when the school runs a school shooting simulation. Unwilling to let it become the norm, she contacts Alderman Jenkins to stop the protocol and provide the students with more equipment.

Debbie gets a new job at a lesbian bar, and confronts Sandy over her marriage. Sandy reveals she was married at 15, but regrets her decision, and they reconcile. At a furniture store, Carl defends the clerk, Tish, from an aggressive customer and they go on a date. That night, Tish visits him at home and they proceed to have sex. Carl wants to use condom, but Tish does not allow him. Afterwards, he talks over the situation with the family, and Debbie says he was raped. The following day, he files a sexual assault charge.

Lip and Tami visit the family at their house and reveal that in order to pay for their own house, they are considering selling the Gallagher household. The announcement is criticized and leads to a huge argument. Frank steps outside and reads a letter with the medical results; he has been diagnosed with alcoholic dementia.

7. Two at a Biker Bar, One in the Lake

Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Tami (Kate Miner) once again talk with the family to discuss selling the house, but the discussion yields mixed results. Tami grows frustrated that Lip has not properly planned, but Lip asks for one day to convince everyone to sell the house.

Realizing they do not have friends, Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) decide to look for new friends to hang out with. They are introduced to more couples. However, they decide to leave when they start dancing to " Rain on Me ". Ian decides to join Lip in selling the house. Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) begins ignoring Tish (Chelsea Alden) and goes off the script when giving a pep talk to children to open up about his problems. He subsequently confronts Tish over "raping" him, upsetting her. Tish reveals she never meant any harm, and is not interested in relying on Carl, as she is currently going to college. Despite Carl's attempts to reconcile, she breaks up with him.

Despite being told by Lip and Brad (Scott Michael Campbell) to keep the bikes at his space, Kevin (Steve Howey) decides to take one for a ride. However, he is pulled over by a police officer, although she only wanted to admire the bike. When she suggests buying it, Kevin is scared that its stolen status is discovered. Desperate, he asks Tommy (Michael Patrick McGill) for help in disposing of the bikes; two are left at a biker bar, while Kevin takes the other bike to dump it into Lake Michigan.

Lip and Brad are infuriated upon learning this, as they now have no possible income. Debbie (Emma Kenney) and Sandy (Elise Eberle) are shocked when the latter's ex-husband Royal (Mike Bash) returns and reveals that Sandy has a son, Prince (Mason Blomberg). Royal drops off his child with her while he goes to work. When Debbie scolds Sandy for abandoning her child and asks her to get joint custody, Sandy storms off.

Liam (Christian Isaiah) asks Veronica (Shanola Hampton) to help him find a home, as he knows his family will not take care of him. Veronica also learns that Carol (Vanessa Bell Calloway) is leaving Chicago. Frank (William H. Macy) wanders through the city, as his dementia starts overcoming him; he enters different houses, forgets the Alibi's location and takes a bus past his destination. Fed up with Lip's actions, Tami decides to leave with Fred to her father's. They get into a heavy argument, and Lip angrily leaves. He takes a sledgehammer and goes to the Gallagher household, smashing a wall in order to build an open floor to boost the house's value. He gets into a fight with his family over his decision to sell the house, and Debbie leaves in tears. Outside, she is approached by two police officers who are looking for Lip.

8. Cancelled

In police custody, Lip is questioned over the robbery, as his criminal record makes him a prime suspect. Without proper evidence, they are forced to let him go. On his way out, Lip is informed by Carl that the police will get a warrant to check his house.

Mickey decides to solve the problem with Terry once and for all when his family stops taking care of him. He and Ian hire many caretakers, but they all quit due to Terry's racist nature. Eventually, they hire Sister Mary Luke, who implements a very strict doctrine with Terry. Ian and Mickey are content with her, until she later tells them she suffocated Terry to death. Carl is not allowed to get a new partner, as the department believes he has a curse as his previous partners were injured. Instead, he is reassigned to the vice division, paired with two detectives. While Carl likes their hard-edged attitude, he is disappointed to learn they do not arrest drug dealers, and even take some cars from the evidence locker. When the detectives plan to investigate and frame the Alibi, Carl crashes their car.

Debbie stays with Calista after her fight with Lip and Sandy. Joining Calista at her bar, she uses cocaine and has sex with a man. When Calista discovers her state, a humiliated Debbie returns home with her daughter Franny. She subsequently has another fight with Sandy, scolding her for abandoning her child, and ended their relationship. With Veronica sad over Carols leaving, Kevin finally appears to find a solution: they will officially get married. With Carol's help, they are declared a marriage at the Alibi. The police searches Lip's house, but they do not find any evidence, as Tami moved it to her father's house. As they reconcile, they discover that Brad plans to confess his role in the robbery, forcing Lip to tackle and take him to his house.

Liam competes at his school to propose a new name, as the school previously had Dennis Hastert 's name, and he could win an iPad if he wins. Frank is disgusted by the name change, and complains over cancel culture. Frank decides to participate in the renaming, intending to have it named after himself, but Liam is confused when Frank forgets that he already told him his plan. At the event, Frank forgets what he was going to do, and mistakes a student for an old bully, causing him to strip and get arrested. He is taken to the hospital, and the family is called to take him. The doctor finally reveals Frank's dementia to the family, surprising them.

9. Survivors

Lip and Debbie continue fighting over selling the house. During this, Frank realizes the implications of the sale, and decides to get the money to buy the house himself. He proceeds to retrieve items from the attic, revealing he plans to rob the Art Institute of Chicago.

Despite hating his father, Mickey cries over his death. As he and Ian check his belongings, they discover pictures of him with a woman named Rachel. They visit Rachel (Gina Hecht), who claims Terry was a lovable person, to the point that he was willing to convert to Hasidic Judaism to marry her when her father forced him. Despite Terry's determination, he could not learn Hebrew and he could not marry her, and Rachel wonders if he is responsible for her father's death. Afterwards, Mickey visits his father's coffin and burns it down. While Veronica leaves to help Carol in moving to Kentucky, Kevin is left with Amy and Gemma, but they prove to be difficult to control, especially when they consume edibles.

After his "accident" with the Vice squad, Carl gets relocated to the Eviction Unit. He is surprised when his partner is Arthur, who has recovered from his heart attack. He is taken aback by his new personality, and how he decides to call a SWAT team to evict a tenant. As Lip and Brad visit the shop to sign papers, they are surprised when it is revealed that the new owner is involved with the Baggio crime family. They are subsequently kidnapped by the boss (Al Pugliese), although he only wants them to fix an electric car.

When he returns home, Lip discovers that Debbie has boarded up the house after taking an STD test. Debbie finally reveals her problem with selling the house: she wanted Franny to live with her family. Lip finally understands, and states he can set up family dinners, and Debbie finally agrees to sell the house.

Liam (Christian Isaiah) tries to find a new home when it is clear no one will take him in. He applies for foster homes, but he is not allowed to apply. He offers to help Frank in his heist, but he does not believe will be able to do the job. Subsequently, he explains his situation to Lip, who agrees to take him to live with him and Tami. Frank contacts his old crew to team up for the heist, but each one will not be able to help; one is in a nursing home, one is content with his life, and the other has died. With no other options, Frank is forced to do the heist alone. Later, Ian and Debbie are shocked to discover that Frank managed to steal the painting Nighthawks, putting it in their living room.

10. DNR

As the news report that the Nighthawks painting was stolen from the Art Institute of Chicago, the Gallaghers debate on what to do, as Carl warns they could all face ten years in prison. They are forced to leave for other errands, while Liam (Christian Isaiah) takes Frank with him to prevent him from revealing the robbery to anyone.

Lip works on preparing the house for sale, while also preparing the Gallagher household for potential customers. During this, he discovers that the gas will not function due to damaged pipes. To pay for new pipes, he is forced to sell one of his bikes for a lower price. Ian and Mickey cover the Alibi, but decide to leave when they discover an affordable apartment at West Side. While Mickey likes the apartment, he does not like living in the West Side. Nevertheless, Ian has already signed a lease on the apartment.

Debbie takes Franny to accompany her in finding a new house, but she struggles with the idea of changes. She later fears ruining her life when they run into a homeless woman who was kicked out by her family. Kevin travels to Louisville to help Veronica and Carol with moving out. He takes a break to eat a burger at a bar, and then offers to fill in as a replacement bartender, making more money there in one day than the Alibi earns in a week. The manager is so impressed with Kevin’s abilities that he offers him a job. Veronica also has a chance to work for a local congressman in the city, prompting both of them to question their future in Chicago.

Carl reluctantly continues his work at the Eviction Unit. He is annoyed when a wealthy man double-parks near evicted people, and proceeds to arrest him when he slaps Carl. Carl's superior and Arthur let the man go, telling Carl that his job is to simply evict poor people, as they rely on wealthy people for their benefit. Liam takes Frank with him, as he tries to bribe a classmate to give him his spot at a prestigious school. Frank's dementia worsens, and Liam is forced to take him home. As Liam explains his condition, Frank laments Liam's role as his caregiver, feeling it is not his job.

Liam then takes Frank to a tattoo shop, where he gets the words " do not resuscitate " tattooed in his chest. That night, Lip and Ian discover that Franny placed stickers into the Nighthawks painting. As a last resort, they place the painting in the subway train, where a man finds it.

11. The Fickle Lady is Calling it Quits

Ian and Mickey have moved into their apartment at West Side, but Mickey dislikes the neighborhood's quiet state, so he decides to sleep at the Gallagher household. He tries to cover the window with black trash bags, but the building manager tells him he can only use white curtains.

Kevin and Veronica sell their house for $175,000 to a developer, planning to move to Louisville. Lip contacts the developer over buying the house, and he secures a $275,000 deal. However, the developer tells Lip that he decided to buy another house for a lower price, $200,000, which was a figure that Lip initially refused. Carl is forced by Sergeant Stamps to apologize to the wealthy man for the "assault incident." Carl reluctantly agrees, but takes back his apology when the man makes a racist remark towards Stamps. Carl insults the man, proclaiming he will fight people like him. As the man threatens with legal action, Carl is demoted to parking enforcement with Arthur. During this, Carl runs into Tish, who is pregnant. When Carl asks over the father, Tish does not answer.

Debbie laments her failed attempts in relationships, and asks Kevin, Veronica and Tami over any explanation. While Kevin and Veronica do not say anything, Tami simply says her bad parents have stalled her attempts. Upset, she brutally kicks Frank at the Alibi, blaming him for ruining her love life. Somewhere, Heidi, a violent kleptomaniac, is released from prison. She steals a woman's car and robs her mother. Heidi is forced to hug Debbie at gunpoint when she notices the police looking for her, but Debbie mistakes this for a sign. While Ian bonds with his new neighbors, Mickey is frustrated that they are not given furniture for their apartment. He tries to steal chairs from the pool, but Ian stops, causing an angry Mickey to leave back for the Gallagher household. They reconcile, promising to make more changes at their new apartment.

Seeing Frank's dementia worsen, Liam decides to take him outside so they can do "Frank things" to cheer him up. These include scamming as blind people, having sex with a prostitute and drinking at the Alibi. However, Frank vomits the alcohol, realizing that he will not be able to enjoy it anymore. He returns home, running into Lip renovating the kitchen. They exchange a conversation, where Frank believes Lip was looking for a brick of gold they hid together, revealing they buried it in the backyard when Lip was twelve. That night, an alone Frank writes a letter for his family, and proceeds to inject himself with heroin. He passes out in the couch.

12. Father Frank, Full of Grace

The family checks on an unconscious Frank, finding that he used all of his heroin to inject himself. While his pulse is not heard, they are still unsure if he is still alive. They proceed to go back to their lives, unaware of the letter that Frank left for them.

As Lip wonders what to do after failing to sell the house, Tami tells him she might be pregnant again. While Brad offers to give him a job at a mechanic shop, Lip is forced to take on a job as a food delivery man. Despite arriving in time, the customers do not tip him much. He helps one of his customers in making money, but he still gets paid just $20, so Lip vandalizes his car. Before leaving for Louisville, Kevin and Veronica throw a celebration night to commemorate the Alibi, although Kevin is worried that the new buyers will dismantle the bar. Ian and Mickey plan to attend, and both question the possibility of having children. Mickey is worried he might become like Terry, but Ian reassures him he will not.

Debbie is now in a relationship with Heidi, and helps her in stealing a new car. After selling the car, Heidi offers Debbie and Franny the chance to flee with her to El Paso, Texas. Carl grows attached to his job in the parking enforcement unit, massively charging wealthy people for using the handicap spots. Talking with Arthur, he learns about Heidi's criminal record, but does not tell Debbie or his family. Frank wanders through the city, finding a closed down Patsy's, and the church where Fiona and Sean were getting married. He enters the church, and believing he is the altar boy, proceeds to light the candles. The father, seeing his condition, calls an ambulance.

Ian and Mickey arrive at the Alibi, with Ian expressing annoyance that Mickey forgot the day was their wedding anniversary. Mickey then shows him that the celebration is actually his wedding gift, delighting Ian. Lip gets a $75,000 offer from his neighbor to buy the Gallagher household, and he comments to Ian about splitting the money into the siblings. Ian supports his decision, but tells Lip he can have his own share. Liam looks for Frank in the city, and goes to the Alibi disappointed. Frank is taken to the hospital, where he mistakes his nurse (Sophia Macy) for Fiona. He is diagnosed with COVID-19, and they discover his do not resuscitate tattoo. They try to contact his family, but Frank dies before they can be called.

While the family celebrates at the Alibi, Franny (Paris Newton) finds Frank's letter at home and draws over it. Frank's spirit is seen entering the Alibi, where he is happy to see his family. When he is pronounced dead, his spirit starts lifting up to the sky while seated on a stool with beer. He stares down at his family, as everyone goes outside to laugh at a burned down car and start singing. Frank starts narrating his letter, proclaiming his view and hopes for his children. He concludes by saying they should not waste their time and have a good time, feeling he had it.

He looks at the viewers and gives a cheers to them as a goodbye. In a mid-credits scene, two morgue workers take Frank's body and throw it in the crematorium. However, his high levels of alcohol cause his body to explode, while an urn to his name falls to the ground.
