Bree is surprised that Andrew is engaged to marry Mary Beth, an heiress who is aware of his homosexuality, for her money. After convincing Mary Beth to break up with Andrew, Bree offers to help him with his financial troubles. Seeking to maintain her lavish lifestyle, Gabrielle is hired as a personal shopper at the Cumberly's clothing store after her shopping skills impress the store manager. Lynette hatches a plan to win Tom back by lying that the power in her house is out. As they bond over looking at an old photo album, Lynette accidentally sets Tom's arm on fire with a candle, and he is furious to discover the ruse. Susan helps M.J. cope with Mike's death after he becomes aggressive and insolent, throwing a stapler at his teacher's head.
