Breaking Bad

Season 1

S1E1 · Pilot

Walter White, a milquetoast high school chemistry teacher dissatisfied with life, celebrates his 50th birthday breakfast with his wife, Skyler, and their teenage son, Walter Jr. Later at his second job at a car wash, Walter faints following a coughing fit; at the hospital, he is diagnosed with Stage 3 terminal lung cancer. Walt does a ride-along on a methamphetamine lab raid with his brother-in-law, DEA Agent Hank Schrader. DEA agents apprehend a cook/dealer named Emilio. Walt, waiting in the car, spots his former student Jesse Pinkman escaping the raid through a neighbor's window, but says nothing to Hank. Walt tracks down Jesse to propose a partnership wherein Walt cooks crystal meth and Jesse manages sales and distribution. They begin cooking crystal meth in a remote area of the desert in a recreational vehicle; Walt's skill in chemistry results in a pure, highly valuable product. Jesse approaches Krazy-8, a local distributor and cousin to Emilio, to arrange distribution. At a meetup with Walt, Emilio recognizes him from the DEA raid. A panicked Jesse tells Walt to run but knocks himself unconscious. Knowing the dealers intend to kill them both, Walt pretends to teach Emilio and Krazy-8 the crystal meth recipe before poisoning them with phosphine gas and driving off.

S1E2 · Cat's in the Bag...

Returning to Jesse's house in Albuquerque, Walt and Jesse try to dispose of the two bodies in the RV, but Krazy-8 disappears. Driving back to Jesse's from work, Walt discovers a barely-conscious Krazy-8 wandering the streets of Jesse's neighborhood; Walt returns him to the house and restrains him in the basement with a bicycle lock. Walt procrastinates killing Krazy-8, instead providing him with food, water, and a means to relieve himself. Meanwhile, Skyler grows suspicious of Walt's recent behavior and, at an ultrasound appointment, questions him about his recent phone call with Jesse. Walt covers by telling her that Jesse sells him marijuana. Skyler visits Jesse and threatens to call Hank if Jesse contacts Walt about marijuana again. Jesse disposes of Emilio's dead body using hydrofluoric acid as instructed by Walt, but he uses his bathtub instead of Walt's suggestion of a plastic bin, resulting in the acid eating through the bathtub floor and leaving a huge mess of dissolved body parts. Two children playing in the desert area where the RV had been find a gas mask that Walt and Jesse accidentally left behind.

S1E3 ·...and the Bag's in the River

Skyler's sister, Marie, mistakenly believes that Walter Jr. is smoking marijuana and asks Hank to scare him straight. Hank takes Walt Jr. to a rundown motel to tell him about "gateway drugs". Walt and Jesse clean up the remains of Emilio, and Walt is torn between whether to keep Krazy-8 alive or kill him. While bringing Krazy-8 food, Walt collapses while descending the stairs and smashes the plate on the floor. Upon waking up, Walt reveals to Krazy-8 that he has lung cancer—the first person he tells—and they start sharing the unexpected things they have in common. Krazy-8 also sows mistrust against Jesse, warning Walt about working with a drug addict. Walt decides to release Krazy-8, but while disposing of the shards of the broken plate, he sees that a shard is missing, and realizes that Krazy-8 has concealed it to use as a weapon. When Walt confronts Krazy-8, Krazy-8 attacks him; Walt strangles and kills him with the bicycle lock restraint. Walt lies and tells Skyler he was working late at the car wash, but she has already talked to his boss and knows he quit weeks ago. That night, Walt returns home and tells Skyler that they need to talk.

S1E4 · Cancer Man

As Jesse and Walt's meth begins to spread in Albuquerque, Hank starts looking for the new drug kingpin, unaware that it is Walt. At a family barbecue, Walt reveals to Walt Jr., Marie, and Hank that he has cancer. Hank promises Walt that he will always take care of his family. Walt Jr. becomes upset that Walt is acting like everything is normal. Jesse becomes paranoid that law enforcement is after him, and he visits his family's house; Jesse's parents are disappointed and worried to see him in such a state. Jesse finds out that his younger brother, who is very successful in sports and music, is smoking marijuana to deal with the intense pressure from their parents. Jesse covers for him but is forced to leave his parents' house, as they believe the marijuana is his. Jesse visits Walt to try and convince him they should continue cooking, but Walt tells him never to try to see him again. Walt and Skyler visit an oncologist who reveals that Walt's cancer is treatable. Skyler is hopeful, but Walt does not think getting treatment is financially feasible.

S1E5 · Gray Matter

Walt and Skyler attend the birthday party of Elliott Schwartz, Walt's former colleague and current CEO of Gray Matter Technologies. Walt also reunites with Gretchen Schwartz, his former fiancée and Elliott's current wife and business partner. After reminiscing with Walt about their time as graduate students, Elliott offers him a job at Gray Matter. Realizing that Skyler must have told Elliott about his cancer diagnosis, Walt declines, believing it to be charity. Jesse becomes frustrated that he cannot secure stable employment outside of the drug world, and he unsuccessfully attempts to replicate Walt's meth recipe with his friend Badger. Walt Jr. is busted by a cop for trying to purchase beer as a minor and calls Hank to pick him up; Hank lectures Walt Jr. for not contacting his own father. Walt's family attempts an intervention to persuade him to undergo chemotherapy. Walt insists that he needs the agency to make a choice for himself and that he does not want to live his last days miserable with treatment. The next morning, he relents and tells Skyler he will accept Gretchen and Elliott's offer to cover the cost of his treatment. Gretchen calls Walt to discuss their offer, but he tells her the assistance isn't needed, lying that his insurance covers treatment after all. Walt then goes to Jesse's house and asks to resume their partnership.

S1E6 · Crazy Handful of Nothin'

Walt undergoes his first chemotherapy session. Walt and Jesse continue their agreement in which Walt will cook the meth while Jesse handles sales. When Walt removes his shirt during a cooking session, Jesse recognizes the radiation therapy marks on Walt's chest and deduces that he has lung cancer. Meanwhile, Hank ties the recovered respirator to Walt's high school's chemistry lab. Hank falsely arrests the kindly school janitor on charges of stealing equipment, who has a criminal record for drug possession and had a small amount of marijuana in his car. Walt shaves his head when he discovers that his hair is falling out. When their initial batch of meth only yields $2,600, Walt insists they need to ramp up production. Jesse's friend Skinny Pete introduces him to the distributor who replaced Krazy-8: psychopathic drug lord Tuco Salamanca. When Jesse demands up-front payment for the meth, Tuco severely beats him and steals the meth. Walt later confronts Tuco on his own, causing an explosion in his hideout, and forces him to pay for the stolen meth. Impressed, Tuco agrees to work with Walt.

S1E7 · A No-Rough-Stuff-Type Deal

Walt and Jesse face production difficulties when they are not able to procure enough pseudoephedrine pills. Jesse, who is now living in the RV, puts his house on the market. Skyler throws a baby shower, during which Marie gifts her a diamond tiara for the baby. Skyler decides to return the tiara, only to be detained at the store and informed that it had been stolen. Upon being confronted by Skyler, Marie flatly denies stealing it. Walt and Jesse break into a warehouse and steal a large barrel of methylamine to produce larger amount of meth by an alternative cooking process. They deliver the promised amount of meth (4 lbs) to Tuco and his associates, No-Doze and Gonzo. When No-Doze makes an offhanded remark to Walt, Tuco becomes enraged and savagely beats him in front of the horrified Walt and Jesse before driving away.

Season 2

S2E1 · Seven Thirty-Seven

The opening scene in black-and-white film shows a partially burned stuffed animal floating in the White's backyard pool. Tuco and Gonzo return immediately to the junkyard meetup site asking Walt to resuscitate No-Doze, who has died from his injuries. Gonzo hides the body under a car. Fearful of Tuco's violent and unpredictable manner, Walt develops a plan to poison Tuco with untraceable ricin. Hank reviews the security surveillance footage of the methylamine warehouse break-in. The DEA finds the bodies of both Gonzo and No-Doze in the junkyard after Gonzo accidentally bleeds out, which sets off a manhunt for Tuco. After receiving a picture of Gonzo's body from a jesting Hank, Walt mistakenly believes Gonzo was murdered by Tuco and becomes convinced that Tuco will come after him and Jesse. Skyler tells Hank about Marie's shoplifting, and learns she has already been receiving therapy for kleptomania. Seeing headlights outside his home window, Walt hurriedly leaves a confused Skyler to investigate, where he finds Jesse being held at gunpoint by Tuco. Tuco orders Walt to get in the car and they drive away.

S2E2 · Grilled

Tuco takes Walt and Jesse at gunpoint to a remote desert hideout, where he takes care of his uncle Hector Salamanca, a former drug kingpin who is now incapacitated due to a stroke and can only communicate with a bell. Tuco explains that Hank and the DEA have rolled his entire organization. Unaware of Gonzo's death, Tuco believes Gonzo has ratted him out and becomes extremely agitated. Tuco voices his plan to take Walt to Mexico and run a covert cooking operation in the jungle. After several unsuccessful attempts to have Tuco ingest the ricin, Hector warns Tuco using his bell that Walt and Jesse are not to be trusted. Enraged, Tuco attacks and attempts to kill Jesse, but Jesse manages to shoot him in the torso and escape. Meanwhile, Skyler enlists Hank to help track down Walt. After Marie reveals that Walt has a second cell phone, Skyler mentions that Jesse had been supplying Walt with marijuana. After visiting Jesse's mother, Hank tracks Jesse's car to Tuco's hideout and gets into a shootout with Tuco, whom he kills in self-defense. Seeing Hank from a distance, Walt and Jesse bury the gun and run off into the desert.

S2E3 · Bit by a Dead Bee

Walt forms a plan to explain his and Jesse's disappearance and they split up to hitchhike back to the city. Walt goes to a supermarket alone, removes all his clothes, and wanders around the aisles feigning a disoriented state. He is hospitalized and claims to have no memory of the past several days. Walt is scheduled to undergo ongoing psychiatric evaluation, but is ultimately released after telling his psychiatrist that he simply wanted to be alone and faked his "fugue state" to cover this from his family. Jesse, who is now a fugitive, returns to his house and, with Badger's help, packs all of his lab equipment into the RV and arranges it to be towed. He then allows the DEA to find him in a motel room with a prostitute, with whom he claims to have been shacked up all weekend. Hank brings in Hector to identify him, but the old man refuses to cooperate with the authorities. Jesse is released, but the DEA confiscates all of his money. Walt convinces Jesse to continue cooking meth, saying that nothing has changed.

S2E4 · Down

While things have blown over with their disappearance, Jesse has no money and Walt cannot leave the house without Skyler wondering where he is. Jesse's parents, who own his house, order him to vacate, citing Hank's visit as the final straw. Now homeless and having his motorbike stolen, Jesse breaks into the lot where his RV is being kept and spends the night in it. Upon being confronted by the lot owner, Jesse steals the RV by driving through the locked gate. Walt tries to reconnect with Walt Jr. by giving him a driving lesson. Suspicious of Walt's actions, including his denial of having a second cell phone, Skyler begins going out all day and refuses to tell Walt of her whereabouts. An increasingly frustrated Walt continues to deny any wrongdoing. Jesse arrives at Walt's home and convinces him to give him half of their remaining money.

S2E5 · Breakage

Walt continues his treatment and his condition improves, but he is concerned about the growing medical bills, which include the hospital visit in his "fugue state". Jesse begins to re-establish his life, paying off his debts and getting a new place to live. He develops an interest in his new next-door neighbor and landlord, Jane Margolis. Hank and the DEA come across the name Heisenberg, but are not sure if he is real or just an urban legend. Hank is promoted and appointed to a tristate drug task force, but experiences panic attacks due to his shootout with Tuco. Skyler and Marie reconcile over the tiara incident. As Walt and Jesse resume cooking, Jesse suggests they take over Tuco's role as a distributor to increase their profits; he recruits his friends Badger, Skinny Pete, and Combo as dealers. Skinny Pete is ripped off by a drug-addicted couple. Unimpressed, Walt tells Jesse that unless he does something about it, they will develop a reputation for being easy marks.

S2E6 · Peekaboo

Walt returns to work. Gretchen Schwartz drops by the Whites' home where Skyler expresses her gratitude for paying for Walt's treatment. Gretchen does not reveal the truth to Skyler, but privately expresses her shock and anger to Walt, who bitterly tells her to mind her own business and blames her and Elliott for profiting off of his research and cutting him out. In response, Gretchen calls Skyler and tells her that she and Elliott can no longer pay for Walt's treatment. Walt covers by telling Skyler that Gretchen and Elliott are insolvent, which Skyler believes. Meanwhile, Jesse tracks down the couple—a man named Spooge and his female partner—who ripped off Skinny Pete, but finds only their young and heavily neglected son at the house. Jesse makes the boy food and watches TV with him until the couple returns home with a stolen ATM, after which they incapacitate Jesse. Later, the female addict crushes Spooge's skull under the ATM after he repeatedly insults her. Horrified, Jesse recovers the meth and cash from the ATM, calls the police, wraps the boy in a blanket on the front porch, and flees the scene.

S2E7 · Negro Y Azul

Walt has trouble getting in touch with Jesse, who has been staying at home since his encounter with Spooge. Jesse is not providing product to his dealers, so Walt arranges to deliver it. He learns that the word on the street is that Jesse killed Spooge and, due to his new reputation as a cold-blooded killer, they are having no problem at all collecting payment. Walt decides the time has come to expand their territory and put Jesse's new reputation to good use. Skyler seeks a job and is rehired as a bookkeeper by her previous boss, Ted Beneke. Jesse and Jane continue to bond. Hank struggles to fit in at his new job in El Paso where he is perceived as a "gringo". During an investigation, Hank's task force comes across the severed head of an informant mounted on a tortoise, which causes Hank to feel sick and run to a nearby vehicle. He is mocked by the other agents before an explosive strapped to the tortoise goes off, killing or injuring several DEA agents, while Hank remains unharmed.

S2E8 · Better Call Saul

Hank suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder after the bombing in El Paso. To help cheer Hank up, Walt gives him a motivational speech about his cancer diagnosis; Hank is encouraged to leave the house, but still experiences panic attacks. Jesse and Jane have begun a sexual relationship, and Jesse learns that Jane is in recovery from addiction. Badger is arrested in a sting operation by the Albuquerque police; Walt and Jesse hire a shady lawyer, Saul Goodman, who ensures that Badger will get off with a light sentence without having to give away Jesse or Walt's identity. Saul tells Walt and Jesse about an ex-convict named Jimmy, who makes a living being paid by other criminals to go to jail, and offers to have him stand in for Heisenberg. The DEA busts Jimmy when Badger gives them a fake deal, but Hank isn't completely convinced. Through a private investigator, Saul tracks down Walt at the school and offers his services as a full-time legal counsel and adviser for a cut of the profit.

S2E9 · 4 Days Out

Walt is convinced that his medical condition is deteriorating; he continues to have coughing fits and is now coughing up blood. After Saul calculates the numbers, Walt realizes that there is not much money left for his family. With an excuse of visiting his mother, Walt and Jesse set off for the desert for a marathon cooking session over an extended weekend. During their trip, Jesse accidentally leaves the keys in the ignition, inadvertently draining the RV's battery. Walt and Jesse find themselves stuck in the middle of the desert, cold and without food or water. Walt's knowledge of chemistry again saves the day, as they build a makeshift battery providing enough power to jump-start the RV. Returning to Albuquerque, Walt and Skyler discover that Walt's cancer is in remission. Walt's family is ecstatic over the news, but Walt privately has a violent outburst.

S2E10 · Over

Despite the good news about his condition, Walt is unhappy, and he reveals to Jesse that he is out of the drug trade now that he no longer has to pay for treatment. Skyler decides to throw a party to celebrate the news and thank all of their friends for their support; Walt gets drunk and forces Walt Jr. to drink an excessive amount of tequila, provoking an argument with Hank. Embarrassed about his behavior, Walt tries to make amends. At work, Skyler breaks down and confides to Ted about Walt's condition. Jesse's relationship with Jane continues to grow, but he is taken aback when her father, Donald, drops in to see her; Jane does not introduce Jesse as her boyfriend. Jesse is upset that she does not take their relationship seriously, but the two ultimately reconcile after Jane gives him an apology. At a hardware store, Walt sees two men with an RV buying materials to make meth. Realizing he is being copied, Walt orders them to stay out of his territory.

S2E11 · Mandala

After Combo is murdered by a rival gang, Skinny Pete decides to quit the drug trade. With no distribution network, Saul proposes a new distribution method by putting Walt and Jesse in touch with a meth distributor named Gus Fring, who is the owner of a regional fast food chain called Los Pollos Hermanos. Gus agrees to purchase Walt's product, but expresses concern about Jesse's drug problem, warning Walt never to trust a drug addict. Distraught over Combo's death, Jesse tells Jane what he does for work. Jane later relapses into drug addiction and introduces Jesse to heroin. Skyler finds out that Ted has been engaging in tax evasion from the IRS, but decides not to report it due to their past relationship. Walt receives a large offer for the short-notice delivery of the remainder of their inventory, but at the same time receives a call from Skyler, notifying him of her imminent labor.

S2E12 · Phoenix

Walt delivers the inventory in time but misses his daughter's birth. Jesse confronts Walt about his share of the payment, but Walt refuses to disburse the funds until Jesse can prove his sobriety. Jesse and Jane's addiction is discovered by Donald, who agrees to give her one day to settle her affairs before going to rehab. In an effort to minimize the cost of Walt's upcoming surgery, Walt Jr. sets up a website to gather donations for his father's medical expenses. It is quickly used by Saul as a way to launder Walt's earnings so they can be spent without raising suspicion. After discovering Jesse's payday, Jane blackmails Walt into delivering Jesse's share. Later, Walt returns to Jesse's and finds Jesse and Jane passed out in bed after a drug binge, both lying on their sides. He tries to shake Jesse conscious and as he does so, Jane flops over onto her back. Jane vomits and begins to suffocate. Walt leans to turn her over but quickly changes his mind as he stands and watches Jane die.

S2E13 · ABQ

Jesse discovers Jane's passing and reaches out to Walt. Walt contacts Saul, who sends his private investigator and cleaner Mike to conceal Jesse's involvement in Jane's death. Jesse is distraught and flees; Walt later locates him in a crack house and takes him to rehab. Walt's funds are funneled into his son's website, which attracts the attention of the media, causing him to be overcome with shame. Walt's secretive behavior becomes a problem once again when he accidentally references a second cell phone while under the initial effects of anesthesia moments before his surgery. This prompts Skyler to investigate deeper, thereby revealing many of Walt's lies, including not taking any money from Gretchen and never visiting his mother, which spurs her to leave him. Donald, an air traffic controller, is distraught by Jane's death and accidentally allows a mid-air collision to occur between an airliner and a small plane in the sky above Albuquerque. The crash results in debris, including a scorched pink teddy bear and human remains, raining down onto the Whites' residence, as well as much of the city.

Season 3

S3E1 · No Más

All of Albuquerque is in shock in the aftermath of the mid-air plane collision. Walt is living in his home alone after Skyler has moved out with Walt Jr. and their newborn daughter Holly to give Walt time to pack his things. Skyler speaks to a divorce lawyer about making the split permanent, but wavers when the attorney says she should try to uncover any money Walt may have hidden. Later, Skyler presents Walt with divorce papers and accuses him of being a weed dealer; Walt admits that he cooks meth. Deeply shaken, Skyler storms off and states she will not expose Walt's secret if he grants her the divorce and full custody of their children. Jesse is in rehab trying to overcome his drug addiction, while struggling with his own personal self-loathing and guilt over Jane's death. Walt tells Gus that he is leaving the business, though he briefly considers Gus' very lucrative offer. Meanwhile, two dangerous-looking twin brothers cross into the US from Mexico in search of Heisenberg.

S3E2 · Caballo sin Nombre

Walt is having difficulty adjusting to his new life. He has an encounter with a police officer over a cracked windshield but manages to avoid charges, thanks to Hank's intervention. Skyler returns to work for Ted and continues to not let Walt return home, dismaying Walt Jr., who does not understand his mother's behavior. Saul wants Walt to start producing meth again, but he refuses; Saul calls Mike to stake out the Whites' house. Jesse stops by his old house and discovers that his parents have had it renovated and put it up for sale. As relations are still strained between them, Jesse approaches Saul to buy the house from his parents. Saul visits Jesse's parents and threatens to reveal that the house contained a meth lab. Frightened that this will entangle the house in legal action and make it sell for far less, Jesse's parents agree to Saul's cash offer. The twin brothers are revealed to be Tuco's cousins, Leonel and Marco Salamanca. They visit their uncle Hector, who is now living in a retirement home; Hector gives them Walt's name. After a disgruntled Walt breaks back into his home, the cousins arrive to kill him; an onlooking Mike gets Gus to call them off at the last minute.

S3E3 · I.F.T.

Walt moves back into the house and tells Skyler he has no intention of leaving. Walt Jr. is thrilled that his father is back, but Skyler calls the police in an attempt to have Walt thrown out. The police are unable to intervene without a court order, and Skyler stops short of revealing Walt's illegal activities. Skyler meets with her attorney and admits that Walt is a meth distributor; her attorney advises her to divorce Walt and tell the police, but Skyler tearfully states that she does not want Walt Jr. to find out his father is a criminal. Jesse is still having trouble coming to terms with Jane's death but has moved back into his house. Unbeknownst to Walt, Gus arranges a meeting with Tuco's cousins and Hector, making it clear that he wants Walt left alone for the time being. After finding out that he is going to be transferred back to El Paso, Hank lashes out in a bar. Walt explains to Skyler that he committed all of his illegal activities for the sake of the family, and begs her to accept the drug money. Later, Skyler seduces Ted at work, and that night, she coolly informs Walt of her infidelity.

S3E4 · Green Light

Jesse gives meth to a cashier in exchange for gasoline. Walt makes a scene at Skyler's workplace while confronting Ted, but Mike removes Walt before the police can arrive. Saul tries to convince Walt to continue producing meth, but Walt refuses the offer upon discovering that they bugged his house; he then fires Saul on the spot, thus losing Saul's help laundering money. Walt attempts to seduce the school principal, Carmen, but is promptly rebuffed and placed on indefinite leave. As he leaves, Walt is met by Jesse, who has produced a new batch of meth following Walt's recipe. Walt rejects Jesse's product as substandard, and Jesse resolves to sell the product to Gus himself, through Saul and Mike as the mediators. Gus reluctantly agrees to the purchase, anticipating that Walt's pride and financial need will convince him to accept his business proposition. Jesse makes the sale but receives only half the payment, while the second half is delivered to Walt. Hank forgoes his transfer to El Paso in order to pursue a new lead in the Heisenberg case, having found footage of Jesse's RV at the gas station.

S3E5 · Más

Walt correctly deduces that Gus tried to lure him back into the business by giving him half of Jesse's sale, but still refuses to accept. Gus tries to convince him for a last time with a high-tech superlab. Walt is impressed, but nevertheless declines the offer, as the meth business has cost him his family; Gus proclaims that a man provides for his family regardless of whether or not his family appreciates him for it. Hank continues investigating the RV and has an argument with Marie. Concerned for Hank's well-being, Marie confides in Skyler, which in turn makes her doubt her new relationship with Ted. Skyler also begins to reconsider Walt's drug money and starts realizing that she might want to patch things up. When she returns home, Skyler is surprised to find the divorce contract signed by Walt and all of his belongings gone, including the money. At Saul's office, Walt gives the money to Jesse but reveals that he has decided to cook again, angering Jesse but exciting Saul. Hank finds a link between the RV and Jesse when he discovers it belonged to Combo's mother.

S3E6 · Sunset

Walt settles into a new apartment and takes a liking to his new, well-qualified lab assistant Gale, while Jesse enlists Badger and Skinny Pete to enter the drug trade alongside him again. In the wake of the divorce, Walt Jr. wants answers about his parents' relationship. Hank conducts surveillance on Jesse, believing that the RV is in his possession. Upon discovering that Hank has discovered Jesse's link to the RV, Walt immediately orders it destroyed. When Jesse angrily arrives, Hank follows him and corners them inside the RV, but is unaware of Walt's presence. They avoid capture by drawing Hank away with Saul's assistance, who has his secretary call Hank and claim that Marie was in an accident. Hank realizes the ruse only when he goes to the hospital, and Walt and Jesse nostalgically watch as the RV is destroyed. Gus, seeing that Tuco's two cousins definitely intend to kill Walt and cannot be held at bay for long, successfully turns their attention instead to Hank.

S3E7 · One Minute

Hank brutally attacks Jesse in retaliation for the incident at the impound lot. In the hospital, Jesse tells Saul and Walt that he will make Hank's life miserable and continue cooking, threatening to hand Walt to the DEA if he or Saul intervene. Skyler pressures Walt to convince Jesse to drop the charges against Hank. Walt engineers a fallout with Gale, and over Gus' objections, offers Jesse a chance to renew their partnership. At first, Jesse angrily refuses, but later relents. Hank tearfully reflects with Marie on how his professionalism has deteriorated since he killed Tuco and deduces that he is done being a cop. At the DEA office, Hank admits to assaulting Jesse, resulting in him being suspended without pay and having his gun confiscated. Later, Hank receives an anonymous call warning him he has one minute before he is attacked. Hank wonders if it is a prank call, but Tuco's cousins arrive and shoot him several times. Hank reverses his car into Leonel, pinning him against another car and maiming him from the waist down, then shoots Marco in the head with Leonel's gun.

S3E8 · I See You

Jesse is discharged from the hospital following Hank's attack on him and sees Hank being admitted in critical condition. The attempted hit on Hank prompts the Mexican government to crack down on the cartel and border security; Gus receives a call from drug lord Juan Bolsa, who intends to get the truth from Leonel as to who permitted them to act. Marie lashes out at Hank's boss when she hears they had taken his gun away, as well as at Walt, whom she blames for putting Jesse on Hank's radar. Walt fires Gale and replaces him with Jesse. While Walt is at the hospital, Jesse is left on his own in the lab and, unable to cook, becomes worried about meeting their quota. At the hospital, Walt sees Leonel recovering and realizes that he might have been their intended target. Gus decides to pay a visit to the hospital, and Walt learns that Gus has known that Hank is his brother-in-law. Minutes after Gus leaves, Leonel goes into cardiac arrest and dies; Mike surreptitiously drops an empty syringe into a sharps container and then leaves. During another phone call with Gus, Bolsa is suddenly shot in his home.

S3E9 · Kafkaesque

Walt and Jesse are in full production in the new lab and easily producing their target 200 pounds of meth per week, while Jesse skims some of the excess to sell on his own with Badger and Skinny Pete. Marie is frustrated when she learns that their insurance will not provide the quality of physical therapy Hank requires to walk again. Skyler, certain that Walt is at least indirectly responsible for the attack on Hank, proposes that she and Walt pay the bills, spinning a tale about how Walt's gambling winnings have netted them an amount with seven figures. Marie is shocked but agrees to take their money. Hank's work partner Gomez shows Hank a map that indicates blue meth has been sold in seven states, confirming Hank's suspicions about Heisenberg still being active. When Hank reveals that he received a warning phone call, Walt realizes that the attackers were after him, and speculates that Gus deflected their attention onto Hank to protect him and corner the entire Southwest meth market with domestic production. Walt expresses gratitude towards Gus, who promises Walt security and brings up the possibility of extending their contract to a year.

S3E10 · Fly

Walt is suffering from insomnia, worried about the direction his life has taken. Unaware that Jesse has been skimming, he is also concerned that their yield is a half-pound short of his calculations. His paranoia comes to a head when he spots a small housefly in the lab, and, worried about contamination, goes to extreme lengths to kill it. Jesse, at first dismissive, begins to help as well, and when he finds out Walt has not slept in two days, slips sleeping pills into Walt's coffee. Walt tries to pinpoint the exact moment when things got out of control, and it becomes clear that the paranoia over contamination is not about the fly at all. Near delirium, Walt repeatedly refers to Jane and the night she died but stops short of telling Jesse what really happened. While Walt sleeps, Jesse cooks the batch on his own. In the parking lot the following morning, Walt refers to the missing half-pound of meth and warns Jesse that there may be hidden cameras in the lab and that he will not be able to protect Jesse if Gus finds out about the reason for the shortage.

S3E11 · Abiquiu

Skyler gets the first of Hank's hospital bills and, concerned that the money they use to pay them could be traced back to Walt's illegal activities, decides to get more involved in Walt's business affairs. Walt introduces her to Saul, but she is unimpressed by the investment Saul has lined up and suggests a more believable business investment: the car wash where Walt previously worked. At the hospital, Marie is thrilled at the prospect of Hank returning home, but he adamantly refuses to leave the hospital until he can walk. Gus invites Walt to dinner and dispenses sage advice. Jesse tries to peddle the meth he has been skimming at the lab and, fed up with Badger and Skinny Pete's reluctance to sell to their rehab group, decides to sell to Andrea, a new member at their NA meeting. He ends up in a relationship with her and refuses to sell her meth when he finds out she has a five-year-old son, Brock. Jesse also discovers that Andrea's 11-year-old brother Tomás was the child who shot Combo. Jesse visits the corner where Combo was killed and confirms Tomás is working for dealers who sell blue meth, suggesting their connection to Gus.

S3E12 · Half Measures

Jesse prepares to exact revenge against the drug dealers who killed Combo and wants Walt to help him out. Walt refuses, but realizing the danger Jesse has put himself in, takes steps to protect him. Hank is still reluctant to leave the hospital, even though his doctors have told him he is free to leave at any time. Nevertheless, Marie wheels Hank out of the hospital after betting she can arouse him during a sponge bath. Jesse is brought into a meeting with Gus, who promises his dealers will stop using children as pawns; Jesse reluctantly agrees to "keep the peace". That night, Jesse learns that the drug dealers have chosen to end Tomás's involvement in their activities by killing the boy, and he decides to kill the two dealers himself. Walt hears about the boy's death on TV and abruptly leaves the house, realizing Jesse is planning something. Jesse draws his gun and confronts the dealers, and as the dealers draw their own guns, Walt arrives and plows into both dealers with his car, killing one and badly injuring the other; Walt then picks up a gun and shoots the other dealer in the head. Walt instructs a shocked Jesse to "run".

S3E13 · Full Measure

After killing the drug dealers, Walt has a tense meeting with Gus, who makes it clear that his patience has reached its limit. Walt professes not to know the whereabouts of Jesse, who he falsely claims has fled the state. Gus chooses Walt's new assistant, who turns out to be Gale. In a meeting with Gale, Gus says that with his overhead he cannot afford to lose even a week's production. Walt realizes Gus intends to replace him with Gale, the only other trained chemist, and that he will be killed once Gale masters Walt's procedure. Walt deduces that they will have to kill Gale, knowing that Gus will have to keep him, and by extension Jesse, alive once he is the only trained chemist left. As Walt prepares to leave his house to kill Gale, Victor arrives and forces Walt to meet with Mike at the lab. Realizing he is about to be executed, Walt calls Jesse and orders him to murder Gale. Victor races to Gale's apartment to stop this, but Jesse arrives first. After some hesitation, Jesse tearfully pulls his gun on Gale and fires.

Season 4

S4E1 · Box Cutter

Walt and Jesse are held in the lab by Victor and Mike, anxiously awaiting Gus' reaction to the murder of Gale. Victor realizes his own position is precarious and reveals he observed Walt and Jesse's work by starting to cook meth himself, hoping to prove his value to Gus. Skyler fears the worst when she cannot contact Walt, while a paranoid Saul hires a personal bodyguard. Hank struggles with life at home after his injury, snapping at Marie and becoming more preoccupied with collecting and cataloging minerals. Gus arrives and, upon seeing Victor cooking, changes into a lab suit and slits Victor's throat with a box cutter. He then changes back to his work clothes and instructs Walt and Jesse to return to work. The following morning, Walt tells Jesse that Gale's death was necessary, but expresses concern that Gus will kill them at his next opportunity. Police investigate Gale's apartment but overlook his lab notes.

S4E2 · Thirty-Eight Snub

Walt illegally buys and begins carrying a snubnosed revolver to kill Gus, fearing that Gus will eliminate him first. However, Walt receives a visit from Mike and Victor's replacement, Tyrus; Mike coldly informs Walt that he will never see Gus in person again. Jesse, in an attempt to distract himself from having murdered Gale, buys an elaborate stereo system and throws an ongoing party with Badger and Skinny Pete. Andrea visits Jesse and expresses concern for his behavior; Jesse, unable to face his emotions, instead hands her a large stack of cash for Brock's future. Marie struggles with Hank's deepening depression as he continues his physical therapy sessions at home. Skyler pushes forward with her plan to buy the car wash that used to employ Walt, but the resentful owner angrily refuses her offer. Believing Mike to be in as precarious a situation as he and Jesse, Walt follows Mike to a bar and asks to get him in a room with Gus so he can kill him. Instead of answering, Mike beats up Walt and leaves.

S4E3 · Open House

Walt is furious about a motion-detecting surveillance camera installed in the lab. In a meeting with Saul, Skyler convinces Walt to buy the car wash, and she has Saul's con artist pretend to be an EPA representative who threatens to shut down the business over contaminants. Facing unjust pressure, the owner begrudgingly sells to Skyler, agreeing to an even lower price than her original offer. Jesse continues to open his house up for 24-hour, drug-fueled parties, deliberately throwing piles of money in the midst of the chaos. Frustrated with Hank's coldness at home, Marie renews her kleptomania by stealing items from various real-estate open houses. Marie is eventually caught by a real estate agent and taken into police custody; Hank pulls strings with a former colleague to get her out of being charged. The colleague later seeks Hank's help and gives him a copy of the lab notebook found in Gale's apartment.

S4E4 · Bullet Points

Walt and Skyler plan to tell Hank and Walt Jr. that they paid for Hank's medical bills and the car wash with Walt's illicit gambling winnings; Skyler makes Walt meticulously rehearse their "spontaneous" admission of his problem. Walt is shocked to learn that Hank is investigating Gale's murder; Hank tells Walt that he believes Gale was the cook of the high-grade blue meth, and that Gale was Heisenberg. When asked by Hank to read about a chemical process written in Gale's lab notes, Walt notices a line from a Walt Whitman poem and a dedication: "W. W. My Star, My Perfect Silence." Walt tells Hank that the "W. W." refers to the poet. Jesse's increasing complacency leads to over seventy thousand dollars in cash being stolen from his house, but Mike quickly recovers it. Noticing Jesse's apathy about the loss and recovery, Mike reports to Gus that Jesse's lack of professionalism is a problem for the organization, and that they must intervene. The episode ends with Mike driving an expressionless Jesse to an unknown location.

S4E5 · Shotgun

Mike assures Walt that Jesse is safe and he takes Jesse on multiple collections throughout New Mexico. During the last collection, a man appears with a shotgun, and Jesse thwarts the robbery attempt. Later, Gus and Mike discuss the day and it is revealed that the "robbery" was set up by Gus to improve Jesse's low self-esteem. Walt and Skyler officially purchase the car wash, after which Skyler asks Walt to move back into the house. During a family dinner, Hank reveals that he has given up on investigating Gale further, having found a sense of closure in the death of the man he believed to be Heisenberg. When Hank states that Gale was a genius, an intoxicated Walt lets his ego get the better of him, and tells Hank that he believes Gale most likely copied someone else's work and that Hank's "genius" is still at large. The following day, Hank dives back into the case with renewed vigor and discovers a Los Pollos Hermanos napkin amongst Gale's possessions.

S4E6 · Cornered

Following Walt's behavior at dinner the night before, Skyler grows worried that he is in danger and again pushes Walt to turn himself in. When Walt angrily lashes out and tells her that he is the one who is a danger to others, Skyler leaves with Holly. Walt tells Jesse that Gus is attempting to drive a wedge between him and Jesse, correctly suspecting that the robbery that Jesse thwarted was a set-up. That afternoon, Jesse is again taken from the lab to run a job with Mike; Walt pays three workers at the laundry facility to clean the lab, but when Gus finds out, he has them deported. Meanwhile, Gus compliments Jesse's work in his errands with Mike and proclaims that he "sees something" in him, further boosting Jesse's self-esteem and loyalty. Walt gives into Walt Jr.'s pleas for a new car and buys him a Dodge Challenger. When Skyler returns home, she demands Walt return the car as it contradicts their cover story, further stating that "someone has to protect this family from the man who protects this family".

S4E7 · Problem Dog

After hearing Skyler's reasoning, Walt angrily drives the Challenger to a parking lot; he takes it on a joyride, crashes it, and blows it up, forcing Saul to cover up the outburst. Skyler, taken aback by the amount of money Walt makes, is unsure how she will launder all of it through the car wash successfully. Walt convinces Jesse to use his new position as a henchman in the organization to kill Gus, concocting a ricin poison in the lab which Jesse hides in one of his cigarettes. At a meeting, the cartel offers Gus an ultimatum, which he rejects; Jesse has an opportunity to kill Gus, but decides not to. He returns to his 12-step group, where he is kicked out by the group leader after admitting to using the group as a market to peddle meth. Hank visits Los Pollos Hermanos with Walt Jr. and obtains Gus' fingerprints from a cup. Hank later informs Gomez and his boss at the DEA of his investigation that Gus leads a large meth operation, revealing that he has found a match for Gus' fingerprint at Gale's apartment.

S4E8 · Hermanos

In a flashback, Gus visits Hector in a nursing home and informs him of the death of his nephews after their attempt to kill Hank. In the present, Gus is questioned by Hank, the DEA, and the APD; Gus explains that Gale was a recipient of a college scholarship Gus created, and that his fingerprints were in Gale's apartment because Gale had recently invited him over to ask for money. The investigators are satisfied, but Hank remains suspicious. Still believing Gus is a drug kingpin, Hank enlists Walt to plant an illegal tracking device on Gus' car; Walt sees Mike is present and shows Gus the device, but Gus calmly tells him to plant it. Suspecting Jesse is becoming loyal to Gus, Walt again instructs Jesse to poison Gus as soon as possible. Gus visits Hector again, and in another flashback, Gus and his business partner Max meet Hector in 1989, when they approach drug kingpin Don Eladio. Gus and Max offer to produce high-quality meth for Don Eladio, with Max as the cook and Gus as the businessman. At Don Eladio's instruction, Hector shoots and kills Max as a warning to Gus. In the present, Gus hints to Hector that he will one day exact his revenge.

S4E9 · Bug

Ted reveals to Skyler that he is being audited for tax fraud. Worried that she could be implicated as Ted's former bookkeeper, Skyler attends Ted's audit and pretends to be under-qualified and completely ignorant of standard accounting practices. Her supposed incompetence forestalls a full investigation, although Ted is still ordered to pay back his taxes and fines totalling over $600,000. Skyler later ventures into the crawl space underneath her home, where she has been storing Walt's cash. After failing to uncover evidence from the GPS tracker, Hank investigates Gus' depot, forcing Jesse to help clean and move all the product out of it. A cartel sniper opens fire on Gus' distribution center, which ends when Gus walks outside alone; Mike explains to Jesse that the cartel needs to keep Gus alive for his distribution network. Gus calls the cartel and gives in to their demands to split territory, later telling Jesse that he will be sent to Mexico to teach the cartel how to cook the blue meth. Walt confronts Jesse for failing to kill Gus, resulting in a violent fight between the two over their trust issues.

S4E10 · Salud

Skyler has Saul concoct a story about an inheritance to give Ted enough money to pay off his back taxes. Ted promptly leases a Mercedes and refuses to pay his back taxes, telling Skyler he wants to get his business back up and running first and hire a tax lawyer to try and negotiate a "better deal" with the IRS; Skyler reveals that she was the source of his windfall. Following his fight with Jesse, Walt misses his son's birthday party. Concerned, Walt Jr. pays Walt a visit, only to find him bloodied and incoherent; Walt Jr. stays to take care of his father. The following morning, Walt apologizes for his drugged state, but Walt Jr. responds that he would rather remember Walt that way compared to his behavior the past year. Jesse, Mike, and Gus fly to the cartel's meth lab in Mexico. After a successful cook, Jesse is informed that he now belongs to the cartel. When they go to Don Eladio's estate to celebrate their alliance, Gus kills Don Eladio and his men with poisoned tequila, but he himself is poisoned as well; Mike is shot before Jesse helps them flee the premises.

S4E11 · Crawl Space

Gus survives the poison, and Mike must stay in Mexico for a week to recover. Gus tells Jesse he can run the lab now, but Jesse tells him not to kill Walt. Ted still refuses to pay the IRS with the money from Skyler, who sends Saul's henchmen to intimidate him. Ted signs the check, but then attempts to escape; he trips and hits his head, knocking himself out and breaking his neck. Hoping to stop Hank's investigation into Gus, Walt deliberately gets Hank into a car accident, but Hank is undeterred. Walt realizes Jesse has been cooking without him, but Jesse is unmoved when Walt confronts him and begs him to stop. Gus takes Walt to the desert and fires him, informing him that Hank will be killed and that Walt's entire family will be murdered if he interferes. After convincing Saul to place an anonymous tip to the DEA, Walt desperately prepares to have the family "disappear", but suffers a breakdown when he realizes he does not have enough money because Skyler gave it to Ted. Marie calls Skyler to tell her that the DEA has received an anonymous tip that Hank is a target again, and he is put under protection.

S4E12 · End Times

Skyler, Walt Jr., and Holly go under DEA protection at Hank and Marie's home. Hank sends Gomez to search the industrial laundromat, but they do not find anything. Gus implies to Jesse that the police attention is Walt's fault, and states that Walt must be killed to protect the operation; Jesse again refuses to cook if Walt is killed. Andrea calls Jesse to the hospital because her son, Brock, is in critical condition with a mysterious flu-like illness. Jesse finds the ricin vial missing and confronts Walt at the latter's barricaded home, suspecting he poisoned Brock. Walt convinces Jesse that Gus is behind the poisoning, as the final manipulation to turn Jesse fully against Walt, and the two agree Gus must be killed. Gus comes to the hospital and demands Jesse return to cook, but Jesse refuses to leave. Walt attempts to kill Gus by planting a homemade bomb under Gus' car, but Gus, sensing danger, abandons the vehicle in the hospital parking garage.

S4E13 · Face Off

Detectives question Jesse about Brock, but Saul intervenes. Afterward, Walt, Jesse, and Saul realize that Gus may be vulnerable via his visits to Hector at the nursing home. Walt visits Hector, who readily agrees to his plan. Jesse is kidnapped from the hospital and held at gunpoint in the lab, forced to cook. Following Walt's plan, Hector asks to speak with the DEA. Believing that Hector is planning to be an informant, Gus visits Hector to personally assassinate him. After Gus admonishes Hector for his supposed cowardice, Hector detonates Walt's bomb, which is strapped underneath his wheelchair; the explosion kills Gus, Tyrus, and himself. Once Gus' death is confirmed, Walt rescues Jesse, and together they destroy the lab. Back at the hospital, Jesse tells Walt that Brock is recovering and that his illness was not caused by ricin, but rather toxic berries from a lily of the valley plant. Still, the two agree that Gus needed to be killed. Skyler calls Walt after seeing news about the nursing home explosion, and he declares to Skyler that he "won". The season ends with a shot of a potted lily of the valley plant in Walt's backyard, revealing that Walt had indeed poisoned Brock.

Season 5

S5E1 · Live Free or Die

In a flashforward, a ragged, bearded Walt, living under a different identity, has breakfast at a Denny's restaurant in Albuquerque on his 52nd birthday. He pays for and receives a key from a patron, which he uses to open a car trunk containing an M60 machine gun. In the present, Walt disposes of any evidence connecting him to Gus' killing and Brock's poisoning as news of the three deaths at the senior center Casa Tranquila spreads. Walt heads over to see his family, but Skyler privately tells Walt that she is now afraid of him. Upon realizing that the surveillance cameras that Gus installed in the superlab could incriminate him, Walt uses a giant magnet to destroy evidence of his and Jesse's activities stored on Gus' laptop in the police evidence lockup. At the hospital, Skyler visits an intimidated Ted, who tells her he will remain silent about what caused his injury. Saul is upset with Walt for poisoning Brock and tries to cut ties with him, but Walt intimidates him into continuing their business arrangement.

S5E2 · Madrigal

Peter Schuler, an executive at Madrigal, the parent company of Los Pollos Hermanos, electrocutes himself using an automated external defibrillator to avoid questioning about his ties to Gus Fring. The DEA filters through various leads in hopes of finding something. In order to rebuild their lives and form a new profitable drug business, Walt and Jesse decide to look to Mike as a new partner. Mike refuses, explaining that Walt is a dangerous "time bomb," but soon learns that a Cayman Islands account Gus set up for Mike's granddaughter has been frozen by the DEA. Walt hides the vial of ricin behind an electrical outlet cover in his house and creates a fake one, which he plants in Jesse's Roomba; Jesse finds it and tearfully apologizes to Walt for suspecting him of poisoning Brock. Skyler's mental state continues to deteriorate due to Walt's criminal activity. Madrigal executive Lydia Rodarte-Quayle hires an assassin to kill off Gus' and Mike's former employees who can incriminate her, including the latter. Mike thwarts this plan and almost kills Lydia, but relents and instead asks her to continue supplying methylamine to Walt.

S5E3 · Hazard Pay

Walt moves back into the house, to Skyler's dismay. Walt, Mike, and Jesse meet with Saul to discuss finding a new place to cook. Walt suggests using pest removal business Vamonos Pest as a cover, cooking in the houses that have been tented over; Saul explains that the Vamonos crew runs a secret burglary operation. Walt manipulates Jesse into ending his relationship with Andrea, mentioning the problems it would cause if she discovered his secret life. At the car wash, Skyler experiences a mental breakdown in front of Marie, who confronts Walt to demand an explanation for Skyler's behavior. Walt tells Marie about Skyler's affair with Ted, and relates her breakdown to stress over Ted's recent accident. When it comes time to divide the earnings of their first cook, Walt is upset about the amount of money going to Mike's former men, whose assets were seized when they were arrested. Angered that he is making less than what he was making while working for Gus, Walt hints to Jesse that they may need to get rid of some of the other members of the team.

S5E4 · Fifty-One

Lydia offers up her own employee to the DEA and Mike offers her a replacement: Jesse. Together, she and Jesse spot a tracking device on a barrel of methylamine. Mike is skeptical that the tracker was planted by the DEA because of its crude placement, and believes that Lydia placed the device herself to get out of their deal. Hank receives a promotion to ASAC. Skyler's depression and frustration begins to grow more severe. During a meager celebration for Walt's 51st birthday, a fully-clothed Skyler steps into the pool and slowly submerges herself before Walt pulls her out. Walt then learns that Skyler has asked Marie and Hank to look after the kids until her issues with Walt are resolved. Skyler threatens to further harm herself if Walt brings the kids back home, but he belittles her plans and threatens to have her institutionalized. Realizing there is no way out of her situation without hurting her family, Skyler tells Walt that her only option is to hope that Walt's cancer will come back and kill him.

S5E5 · Dead Freight

Walt bugs Hank's new office, after which they learn that the tracking device was actually placed by a DEA team in Houston. As all the barrels in Lydia's warehouse are now compromised, the team begins to work through several ideas to obtain methylamine from another source. Desperate to avoid being killed, Lydia convinces the trio that they could heist a tremendous amount of methylamine from a transiting train. Todd, a Vamonos Pest employee, helps assist in the operation; Jesse informs Todd that no one must find out about the heist under any circumstances. Walt Jr. arrives at the White house to demand an audience, but Walt sends him away. Skyler informs Walt that she has decided to keep his secrets and continue laundering his money, so long as their children remain away from them; Walt agrees. The train heist goes almost as smoothly as planned, but Todd notices Drew, a young boy, stopping by on his dirt bike and witnessing the operation. Todd immediately shoots and kills Drew, much to Jesse's horror.

S5E6 · Buyout

Following Drew's killing and new developments with the DEA, Jesse and Mike decide to quit. Mike strikes a deal to sell the methylamine to another drug dealer, Declan, but Walt refuses to cooperate, preventing Jesse and Mike from selling their shares. Walt invites Jesse to his home and confides to him his regret about selling his share of Gray Matter and his plans to build another empire. Skyler returns home; the three dine together at Walt's request, during which Skyler openly discusses her affair. Afterward, Walt discloses to Jesse that Skyler is awaiting his death, and that the meth business is all he has left. Mike and Saul meet with the DEA to notify them that Mike has obtained an injunction preventing their continued surveillance of him. Walt hides the methylamine from Mike to sabotage the deal with Declan. When Mike finds out, he threatens to kill Walt, but the latter suggests he can strike a better deal that would let him keep the business running.

S5E7 · Say My Name

Walt, Jesse, and Mike meet with Declan so Walt can negotiate a deal: Declan will distribute Walt's meth. Jesse still wants to quit the business, so Walt employs Todd as his assistant. Told to end his pursuit of Mike, Hank instead follows Dan Wachsberger, the lawyer who is laundering Mike's money. After Jesse demands his cut of the deal so he can leave, Walt attempts to manipulate him into staying and refuses to pay him. Dan gives in to the DEA, but Walt finds out and warns Mike. When they meet, Walt demands that Mike tell him the names of the people in prison whose silence Mike has been paying for. Mike refuses and berates Walt, telling him they could have kept working for Gus if Walt hadn't ruined that with his pride and ego. Insulted, Walt shoots him in a fit of anger. Horrified by his own action, Walt realizes he could have just gotten the names from Lydia. The two watch the sunset on the riverbank as Mike succumbs to his wound.

S5E8 · Gliding Over All

Walt meets with Lydia to obtain the names of Mike's associates. Lydia partners with him to expand his distribution overseas to the Czech Republic. Walt takes the names to Todd's uncle, Jack Welker, who has ties with Aryan Brotherhood prison gangs. Mike's lawyer and the nine prisoners are killed under Walt's orders. The meth production runs profitably for months. Skyler makes another effort to convince Walt to give up his criminal life, and Walt ultimately relents after realizing they now have more money than can even be counted. Walt visits Jesse to pay him his cut of the deal with Declan, and the two reminisce about the simpler days of cooking meth in the RV. The Whites' children move back in. During a family cookout, Hank flips through Leaves of Grass in Walt's bathroom; he sees the dedication from Gale Boetticher and realizes that Walt is Heisenberg.

S5E9 · Blood Money

In a flashforward, Walt arrives at his dilapidated and fenced-off abandoned house to retrieve a hidden vial of ricin. In the present, Hank excuses himself from the party at Walt's house and suffers a panic attack while driving home. He then requests all files of the Fring case and matches the handwriting in Walt's copy of Leaves of Grass with that of Gale, confirming that Walt is Heisenberg. Jesse feels guilty over his role in Walt's meth business, particularly over Drew and Mike's deaths, and he throws his money away in a residential neighborhood. Lydia visits the car wash pleading for Walt's help, as the quality of the meth has fallen below acceptable standards since his retirement; Skyler firmly warns her never to come back. Walt's cancer returns, but he keeps the news a secret from his family. Upon finding his copy of Leaves of Grass missing, Walt immediately searches for and finds a GPS tracker on his car. Suspecting that Hank has now uncovered the truth, Walt confronts Hank, who punches him and accuses him of being Heisenberg. Walt warns Hank to "tread lightly".

S5E10 · Buried

An elderly man collects the money that Jesse threw away and discovers him absentmindedly spinning on a merry-go-round. Hank reaches Skyler before Walt and, understanding her to be a victim, tries enlisting her in building a case against Walt; Skyler refuses to talk and leaves. Skyler also refuses to say anything incriminating when Marie visits, only saying "I'm so sorry". Realizing Skyler knew about Walt's activities before Hank was shot, Marie slaps her and tells Hank that he "has to get" Walt. Walt buries his money in the desert at the Tohajiilee Indian Reservation. He offers to surrender himself on the condition that the money be kept for their children, but Skyler advises that they should keep quiet, as Hank has no evidence. Lydia, facing pressure from her Czech Republic customers, tries to convince Declan to use Todd as his chemist. When Declan refuses, Jack's gang kills him and his associates before taking the meth production equipment. Hank, unable to obtain information from Skyler or Walt, returns to his office at the DEA to learn that Jesse is being detained and questioned.

S5E11 · Confessions

Jesse refuses to cut a deal with Hank, and is released after Saul shows up. Walt and Skyler arrange a public meeting with Hank and Marie to negotiate; Walt warns Hank that the investigation will ruin their whole family, while Skyler states that Walt is no longer part of his empire. When Hank makes it clear that he will not back off, Walt leaves Hank and Marie with a DVD of Walt implicating Hank as the mastermind of the methamphetamine business, and that he forced Walt to cook meth for him. Hank also learns that Marie paid for his physical therapy using Walt's drug money, lending credence to Walt's story and torpedoing Hank's credibility. Walt offers Jesse money to leave town for good and assume a new identity. Jesse agrees, until he discovers that Saul took the ricin cigarette from him so that Walt could frame Gus for poisoning Brock. Jesse flies into a rage, breaks into the White home, and douses it with gasoline.

S5E12 · Rabid Dog

Walt finds Saul's car crashed in his driveway and his house unoccupied and doused in gasoline; he leaves a message on Jesse's voicemail to meet in order to explain himself, and concocts a fabrication about a pump malfunction at the gas station. Upon discovering that Jesse had tried to burn down their house, Skyler pushes Walt to kill Jesse, whom she views as a threat to their safety. Marie discusses her issues with Walt with her therapist, but is hesitant to disclose the full extent of his criminality. Jesse agrees to cooperate with Hank, who is revealed to have stopped Jesse from torching Walt's house; Hank videotapes Jesse's confession as he recounts his history with Walt. Since there is no physical evidence, Hank convinces Jesse to meet with Walt while wearing a wire. Jesse backs down at the last minute and instead threatens Walt through a phone call. Hank berates Jesse for blowing the plan, but Jesse reveals that he has a better strategy in mind. Meanwhile, Walt calls Todd to request another hit from his uncle.

S5E13 · To'hajiilee

Walt asks Todd to negotiate a hit on Jesse; Jack agrees on the condition that Walt cooks one more time so that Todd can observe him, which Walt reluctantly agrees to do. Hank attempts to learn the whereabouts of Walt's money through Huell, whom he detains; Saul reports Huell's disappearance to Walt. Walt attempts to lure Jesse out of hiding by having Andrea call him, but Hank intercepts the message. Aware that Walt has buried his money somewhere, Hank stages a photo to convince Walt that Jesse found the money. Walt panics and frantically drives to To'hajiilee, where the money is buried, pleading with Jesse by phone not to burn the money, and unintentionally confessing to various murders. Walt calls Jack and demands that he and his crew come to his rescue. Upon seeing Hank and Gomez with Jesse, however, he orders them off. Walt surrenders, but Jack and his crew arrive. A shootout ensues between Jack's crew and Hank and Gomez.

S5E14 · Ozymandias

Jack and his team remain unscathed while Gomez lies dead and Hank has been shot in the thigh. Walt begs Jack not to kill Hank, offering Jack $80 million in exchange for Hank's life. Nonetheless, Jack executes Hank and his men dig up all seven barrels, leaving one for Walt. At Todd's suggestion, they take Jesse hostage in order to get information from him about how much he told the DEA. After being beaten and tortured for information, Jesse is forced by Todd to help him cook meth. Marie tells Skyler that Hank has Walt in custody, and forces her to tell Walt Jr. the truth. When they return home, they find Walt packing and insisting the family leave immediately. Realizing Hank is dead, Skyler threatens Walt with a knife, demanding he leave the house. When Walt refuses and approaches Skyler, she slashes his hand and a tussle ensues. As Walt gains the upper hand, Walt Jr. comes to the defence of his mother and calls the police on Walt, who escapes with Holly. After taking full responsibility for the meth business during a call to Skyler that is monitored by the police, he leaves Holly at a fire station and assumes a new identity through Saul's contact.

S5E15 · Granite State

Assisted by Saul's contact Ed, Walt relocates to a cabin in New Hampshire while Saul leaves for Nebraska. Ed cautions that Walt risks capture if he leaves the cabin. Meanwhile, Jack's gang raids Marie's house and finds Jesse's confession tape. After being interrogated by the DEA, Skyler is threatened by Todd not to talk about Lydia. Jesse tries to escape from the Aryan Brotherhood's compound but is caught. As punishment, Jesse is taken to Andrea's house in a van and forced to watch Todd murder her. Months later, a disheveled and lonely Walt leaves the cabin and walks into town. He calls Walt Jr. from a pay phone in a bar, but an enraged Walt Jr. blames him for Hank's death and hangs up the phone after wishing death upon his father. Walt then calls the DEA to turn himself in. While sitting at the bar, Walt watches Charlie Rose interview Elliott and Gretchen and becomes incensed when they deny the significance of Walt's contributions to Gray Matter. The police soon encircle the bar, but Walt has already left.

S5E16 · Felina

Walt locates Gretchen and Elliott and gives them $9,720,000 to give to Walt Jr. when he turns 18. He claims that he has hired hitmen should they fail to do so, who turn out to be Badger and Skinny Pete with laser pointers whom Walt paid to intimidate Gretchen and Elliott. Walt crashes a meeting between Lydia and Todd, putting the ricin in Lydia's stevia. He then visits Skyler and gives her the coordinates of Hank and Gomez's burial site, imploring her to use it to bargain for a plea deal, and admitting he produced meth to gratify himself. Walt drives to the Aryan Brotherhood's headquarters with the M60 machine gun which he has jury rigged in the trunk. When Jack brings Jesse in from cooking to show him to Walt, Walt tackles Jesse to the ground and triggers the M60, which mortally wounds Walt and kills everyone else except for Todd, whom Jesse strangles to death, and Jack, whom Walt shoots in the head. Jesse refuses to shoot Walt, though Walt asks him to. When Lydia calls Todd, Walt answers and informs her within earshot of Jesse about the poisoned stevia. Walt and Jesse acknowledge each other one final time before Jesse escapes in Todd's car, crying in joy. As he succumbs to his gunshot wound, Walt spends his last moments gazing around the meth lab before collapsing and dying. The police find his body in the lab moments later.

Better Call Saul

Season 1

S1E1 · Uno

Following the events of Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman lives as "Gene Takavic," manager of a Cinnabon in Omaha, Nebraska. After work, he watches a VHS tape of a 2005 Saul Goodman TV ad. In 2002, Jimmy McGill (Saul's birth name) is a struggling public defender in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attempts to convince Craig and Betsy Kettleman, who are accused of embezzlement, to retain him. Jimmy cares for his brother Chuck, who is semi-reclusive and believes he has electromagnetic hypersensitivity. Jimmy also confronts Howard Hamlin of Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill (HHM) when Howard attempts to buy Chuck out with a token payment, demanding that HHM pay Chuck for his partnership's full value. The Kettlemans hire HHM, so Jimmy orchestrates a phony vehicle-pedestrian accident involving Betsy, in hopes of getting another opportunity to win her over. Jimmy's accomplices, twins Lars and Cal, accidentally target the wrong car, which is driven by an elderly woman whom they follow into her house. Jimmy arrives soon after and is pulled into the house at gunpoint by Tuco Salamanca.

S1E2 · Mijo

Jimmy learns that the elderly woman was Tuco's abuelita (grandmother) and he kidnapped Cal and Lars for insulting her. Jimmy attempts to explain about the mistake, only for Lars to immediately implicate Jimmy. Tuco and his associates take Jimmy and the twins to a remote desert site. Jimmy informs Tuco that he is a lawyer and one of his associates, Nacho Varga, convinces Tuco that killing a lawyer would bring unwanted attention. Jimmy then manages to persuade Tuco from not killing the twins and to show mercy by breaking one leg each; he later rushes them to the hospital. A few days later, Nacho tells Jimmy he wants to steal the $1.6 million the Kettlemans embezzled, for which he will pay Jimmy a finder's fee. Jimmy declines, telling Nacho he is not a criminal. Nacho leaves his phone number, advising Jimmy to call when he realizes that he is "in the game".

S1E3 · Nacho

In a flashback, Jimmy is jailed in Cicero, Illinois, facing multiple charges and sex offender status for a scatological "Chicago Sunroof" revenge prank. Chuck agrees to defend Jimmy if Jimmy agrees to cease running cons and move to Albuquerque to work a legitimate job. In 2002, Jimmy still hopes to represent the Kettlemans and notices Nacho conducting surveillance of their home from his van. Disguising his voice, Jimmy calls from a pay phone to warn them of the impending theft. The next day, Jimmy learns that the Kettlemans have been kidnapped, with Nacho arrested as a person of interest. Nacho accuses Jimmy of setting him up and threatens to kill him unless he proves his innocence. Jimmy comes to believe that the Kettlemans staged their own kidnapping, and based on advice from Mike Ehrmantraut, Jimmy finds them hiding in the nearby hills along with the embezzled $1.6 million.

S1E4 · Hero

In a flashback to Cicero, Jimmy and his partner in crime, Marco, use a fake Rolex watch to con a bar patron. In 2002, the Kettlemans agree to return home and pay Jimmy $30,000 to ignore their stolen funds. Jimmy gets an embittered Nacho released from jail. He then uses his ill-gotten gains to compete with HHM by creating a billboard that mimics HHM's logo and Howard's signature look. Meanwhile, Mike creates secret living and recreation facilities for Werner's crew, who begin constructing Gus' meth "superlab". Gus visits a hospitalized, unconscious Hector and previews their future by relating a childhood story about trapping a coati that ate the fruit from a lúcuma tree Gus nursed to health. Rather than humanely killing the injured coati after catching it, Gus held it and let it suffer until it died.

S4E7 · Something Stupid

In a time jump sequence of several months that advances to early 2004, Jimmy and Kim are shown to be drifting further apart. Kim's arm has healed, and to Jimmy's chagrin, she thrives at Schweikart & Cokely, with Mesa Verde's expansion continuing on schedule and Kim finding time to work on the pro bono criminal defense cases that give her satisfaction. Jimmy plans his return to practicing law, including searching for an office. His business re-selling prepaid phones on the street continues to grow, and he increasingly uses his "Saul Goodman" alias. Huell is arrested for assaulting a police officer who tries to get Jimmy to end his phone business, and Jimmy involves Kim in defending him. He tries to get her to smear the police officer so the charges will be dropped, but she refuses, telling Jimmy she has a better way. Meanwhile, Hector begins recovering from his stroke, so Gus dismisses Dr. Bruckner, in effect trapping Hector's recovered mind in his unhealed body. Mike observes Werner's crew during construction of the underground meth lab; work proceeds more slowly than expected, frustrating the crew, and Mike has to step in to break up a fight.

S4E8 · Coushatta

Kim enlists S&C employees in Huell's defense and indicates she'll bury prosecutor Suzanne Ericsen in paperwork. Jimmy takes a bus ride, uses a variety of pens and paper to write supportive mail for Huell, and enlists other passengers to help. The mail is sent with return addresses and postmarks from Coushatta, Louisiana, Huell's hometown. Suzanne investigates, but Jimmy has arranged for a fake church website and pay-as-you-go cellular phones that Jimmy and his TV ad film crew answer. The phony support causes Suzanne to accept a plea that keeps Huell out of jail. Kim is elated, and tells Jimmy she wants to engage in similar behavior again. Meanwhile, Mike arranges a strip club outing for Werner and his crew. Kai starts a fight, but the real problem is Werner, who drunkenly discusses underground concrete construction details with strangers. A fully healed Nacho takes prominence in the Salamanca organization and trains Domingo to punish dealers who do not meet their weekly quota. However, he is then surprised by the unexpected arrival of Lalo Salamanca, who unlike Hector, is interested in the everyday details of the business, which concerns Nacho. At home, Nacho keeps a safe with cash and fake Canadian IDs for himself and his father.

S4E9 · Wiedersehen

Jimmy and Kim surreptitiously replace approved plans for Mesa Verde's Lubbock, Texas branch with plans for a bigger building. Jimmy answers the questions eloquently at his reinstatement hearing, but his application is denied. The chairman suggests Jimmy's answers were "insincere", and when he recounts the details to Kim, she explains to Jimmy that he did not mention Chuck; Jimmy's relationship with Chuck caused his suspension, so the panel expected Jimmy to discuss it. He defensively accuses Kim of "slumming" with him whenever she needs something, while Kim says she is always supportive and Jimmy causes his own problems. That night, Jimmy starts moving out, but Kim stops him and offers to help him win reinstatement. Meanwhile, Lalo visits Hector and improves his communication ability with a concierge bell Lalo kept as a souvenir after Hector killed a hotelier and burned the building. Lalo thanks Gus for saving Hector's life and paying for his treatment. He then asks Nacho to show him where the Salamancas receive their drugs after Gus' trucks bring them from Mexico. Later, Werner's crew blow up the rock preventing construction of the elevator and celebrates that their work is almost done. Werner misses his wife and in desperation, escapes.

S4E10 · Winner

In a flashback, Chuck feigns enthusiasm on the day Jimmy becomes an attorney. In 2004, Kim helps Jimmy's appeal by arranging public displays where he feigns grief for Chuck. Jimmy participates in interviewing Chuck's scholarship candidates and connects with one whose past includes shoplifting. He tells her the other panel members didn't select her and counsels her that the powerful will never look past her youthful mistake, so she should do whatever is necessary to get ahead. At his appeal, Jimmy speaks extemporaneously about how he wants to bring credit to the McGill name. His appeal succeeds, but he reveals to Kim that it was a con, and his declaration that he will not practice under his own name stuns her. Meanwhile, Lalo surveils Gus' drug operation and learns about its regular activities. Werner plans a rendezvous with his wife, with Mike obtains in hot pursuit, learning of his location from a money wire clerk. Lalo finds Mike's actions suspicious so investigates himself, killing the clerk. Lalo tricks Werner into revealing lab construction details over the phone before Mike ends the call. Nacho gains Lalo's favor by climbing over rooftops to sneak in and retrieve the drug stash before police enter. Mike remains upset over Werner's death and drinks heavily. He babysits Kaylee, who asks questions about her father, causing Mike to lash out angrily. Jimmy attempts to get back into Kim's good graces. S5E6 · Wexler v. Goodman

Kim tells Jimmy she does not want to follow through on blackmailing Kevin and wants to reach a settlement between Mesa Verde and Everett Acker. Jimmy agrees, but at the meeting to finalize the settlement, he stuns everyone by asking for $4 million. Kim's insight into Sobchak's photos was that Mesa Verde's logo was inspired by a photograph the bank never obtained permission to use. Jimmy pressures Kevin by threatening an injunction against displaying the logo and threatening to run TV ads seeking plaintiffs for class action suits against the bank which negatively depict Kevin's father. Kevin meets privately with Jimmy and accepts a deal to pay Acker and the photographer. Kim angrily confronts Jimmy, upset that he made her the "sucker" for his con. After initially suggesting splitting up, she instead suggests getting married. Gus, Victor, and Mike meet with Nacho, who reports Lalo's plan to reveal the locations of Gus' street dealers to the police. Gus and other subsidiary owners provide updates to Peter Schuler, Head of Madrigal's fast food division. Gus briefs Peter and Lydia on the meth lab's status. Jimmy blames Howard for Chuck's death and says that as Saul he has grown too big for the constraints of HHM.

S5E8 · Bagman

The Cousins pick up Lalo's bail money at a cartel site in Mexico; an informant makes a telephone call to report their presence. Lalo directs Jimmy to a remote pickup site and pays him $100,000 to transport the cash. Kim does not want him to go because he is a lawyer, not a drug dealer's "bagman", but he says it will be an easy job. The Cousins deliver two bags of cash to Jimmy. As Jimmy starts his return trip, he is cut off by several gunmen. They take the money and prepare to kill him but are attacked by an unseen sniper. All but one are killed and the survivor escapes. The shooter is Mike, who drives off with Jimmy and the cash. Jimmy's car breaks down, so they push it over the edge of the road, then walk cross-country to avoid the gunman. Kim says she is insulted by the notion that she cannot decide for herself. Mike tells Jimmy that Lalo will be killed, and Jimmy later informs Kim. They discuss forcing a Sandpiper case resolution by sabotaging Howard, which would enable Jimmy to receive his seven-figure share of the settlement sooner. Jimmy expresses his unease with Kim's shifting morality, but Kim insists on proceeding. Lalo introduces Nacho to Don Eladio, who blesses Nacho's plans for the Salamanca drug business. At 3 am, Nacho opens Lalo's gate, allowing the assassins entry, then flees. Lalo kills all but one assassin; he forces the survivor to call the middleman who arranged the attempt and report that Lalo was killed.

Gus arranges for Nacho to be smuggled into the U.S., after which Nacho and Mike go over Nacho's part of the plan to absolve Gus for Lalo's death. Jimmy and Kim work with Huell to obtain duplicates of Howard's car key and remote unlock button. Mike takes a firing position with his rifle so he can observe Nacho's confession to Hector and the Cousins. Nacho falsely claims he tried to kill Lalo for the Alvarez drug family, and bolsters his credibility by admitting his previous attempt to kill Hector. Rather than avoiding torture by having Victor kill him in a fake escape attempt, Nacho uses a piece of broken glass to cut his restraints, then kills himself with Bolsa's gun.

He picks up Wendy from a motel, then pretends to force her out of the car while driving past Kim and Cliff, making it appear as if Howard is using prostitutes. After being evicted from the nail salon, Jimmy scouts out a new office. While meeting a pro bono client, Kim spots the same car following her and confronts the driver. Cliff invites Kim to Santa Fe to meet representatives of a foundation that finances projects similar to her pro bono criminal defense work, which takes place the same day she and Jimmy execute their plan against Howard. Jimmy encourages her to go, but later spots Casimiro, whose arm is broken, something not depicted in their photos. He alerts Kim, who returns to Albuquerque. Mike intercepts Kim at Gus' front door; when she explains that Lalo is alive, Mike orders his men to her apartment. Gus realizes that sending Kim to his house was a diversion and drives to the laundry. Gus cuts power to the lights and kills Lalo with the handgun he previously hid. Mike and his men remove Howard's body from Jimmy and Kim's apartment and stage his death as a suicide. Mike advises them to adhere to their story that Howard was a cocaine addict, then supervises the burial of Howard and Lalo's bodies under the floor of the lab.

During the heist, Jeff slips and knocks himself unconscious; Gene gains him extra time by feigning an emotional breakdown to hold the guard's attention. They get away with thousands of dollars in stolen goods, but Gene warns Jeff and Buddy to avoid him in the future, threatening to turn them in if they reveal his identity to authorities. Afterward, she has an emotional breakdown on the airport shuttle bus. Gene's mark wakes up unexpectedly and Gene makes a narrow escape. As Jeff waits for Gene, a police car idles behind him, causing Jeff to panic and run into the car in front of him. Jeff is arrested and Gene enlists Marion to help get Jeff released on bail. A suspicious Marion uses the new computer Jeff bought her to find Gene's true identity as Saul Goodman, then alerts the authorities via her Life Alert button, which forces Gene to flee.
