Complete story — includes the ending
The student government elections approach at John Adams High, prompting Shawn to nominate Cory for class president and take full charge as his campaign manager. Cory insists on running an ethical, grassroots campaign centered entirely on absolute honesty. However, the political landscape shifts when a popular, charismatic opponent named Alvin enters the race. Alvin instantly wins over the student body by making extravagant, unrealistic campaign promises that he cannot possibly fulfill. As Cory's polling numbers plummet, his platform of strict honesty collapses. Desperate to win, Cory succumbs to the pressure and pivots his strategy. He begins fabricating his own wild promises, morphing into a stereotypical corrupt" politician " and alienating his core values. During the live candidate debate, Cory realizes he has completely lost his integrity. He uses his closing statement to confess his deception to the student body, abandoning his fabricated persona to deliver a sincere speech about realistic expectations. While his honesty costs him the election victory to Alvin, Cory successfully regains the respect of his family and close friends. Meanwhile, Eric finds a lost, expensive leather jacket at school. Instead of turning it into the lost and found, he chooses to keep it for himself to elevate his social status. His decision quickly backfires when Mr. Feeny recognizes the jacket and traps Eric in a series of psychological mind games, ultimately forcing Eric to confront his own dishonesty. Topanga Lawrence does not appear in this episode. Guest stars: Jonathan Charles Kaplan as Alvin, Shay Astar as Paula, Brandon Adams as Alex, Anndi McAfee as Jennifer Absent: Lily Nicksay as Morgan Matthews
