Complete story — includes the ending
Everyone is shocked by Dr. Vegapunk’s claim that the fate of the world rests on pirates, while several people become worried their country will sink. Pirates across the world, on the other hand, are stoked to hear that the One Piece is real and want to claim it, while the Marines are outraged by Dr. Vegapunk’s words. Koby thinks back to when Luffy first told him his dream and that he wants to find the One Piece, with Koby thinking Luffy would make the entire world bow to him. As such, he declares in the present that he cannot let him achieve his dream. As for Cross Guild, Buggy continues inspiring his men by saying they will make the world “ours”, while Devon contacts Blackbeard asking what to do with Caribou. Blackbeard says he will hear Caribou out and if the information he has does not impress him, he will kill him himself.
On Egghead, Warcury damages Emet again, and this time he destroys the Broadcast Den Den Mushi, ending Dr. Vegapunk’s message for good. The Straw Hats are still falling through the air with Nusjuro, who has fully recovered, hot on their tails. As for Emet, he apologizes to Joy Boy once again and apologizes to Luffy as well for mistaking him for the former earlier. He hopes Joy Boy will forgive him for failing to make him the king as he asks for Luffy’s name. Luffy introduces himself and after hearing his name, Emet undos a knot in his body while thanking Luffy for letting him hear the Drums of Liberation one last time. He declares he will not let him die as a massively powerful blast of Haki is unleashed from Emet's body, knocking out most of the Marines. It was so strong that the Five Elders were forcefully revered to their human forms before Warcury, Nusjuro, and Peter were sent back to the Room of Authority in Mary Geoise, where Mars is shown to be as well. Even Imu nearly collapses from the intensity, while cursing Joy Boy’s name.
The Thousand Sunny finally lands on the water as Saturn, the only Elder left on Egghead, stares at Emet. Emet recalls a conversation he had with Joy Boy centuries ago, where its revealed that the blast of Haki was unleashed from the knot inside Emet's body, which was created and sealed inside him by Joy Boy. Joy Boy told Emet that he knew he would die before him, so when Emet is in mortal danger or there is someone he wants to save, he must untie the knot and release the Haki. Emet is delighted to hear that even after Joy Boy has passed on, a part of Joy Boy would still remain with him. As Emet begins to power down, he reminisces about them laughing over how this "danger" wouldn't happen for ages, ending with him wondering whether he would be lonely by then as he returns to his slumber.
Chapter 1123
The Haki burst has knocked out every single Marine within the Fleet, including the Vice Admirals, near Egghead. Seraphim S-Snake, who is still bound inside her Seastone Bubble, tries in vain to warn a knocked out Pomsky that the Straw Hat Pirates are getting away. The Giants note that the burst was even stronger than Shanks' despite the lack of hostility in the Haki. Luffy thanks Emet for helping them escape, though by that point the Iron Giant had powered down again. Dorry and Brogy decide to take advantage of the situation and depart for their home of Elbaph. While everyone is resting, though, Sanji walks over to Dr. Vegapunk's body and tells him that everything he said to him earlier does not feel right to him, especially since most of it seemed outrageous.
The story then cuts to two weeks before the current events. Dr. Vegapunk, Shaka, and Pythagoras detected an abnormality from their power plant in that the energy used on the Seraphim had been steadily increased. The data indicated to the three of them that a portion of the Mother Flame had been stolen, and that the manipulated data meant to deceive them indicates one of the Satellites was responsible since only they could be so smart to achieve this. Aside from the Stella and the two present with them, the other four are now under suspicion, though Dr. Vegapunk is heavily leaning towards the culprit being Lilith due to her being designated his "evil" Satellite. Because of this, the three decide to switch their brains to "stealth mode" so whatever they experience will not be known to the culprit. One week later, Pythagoras confirms that the culprit is York because the information she synched with the rest is all fake. In addition, Shaka reports that the Sea Beast Weapons were used as well along with a white Den Den Mushi used for wiretapping. Dr. Vegapunk manages to recover the conversation where they learn York told the World Government that he had been studying the Void Century, explaining the surge of Cipher Pol agents who had been visiting the island recently.
The next day, Dr. Vegapunk learns that Lulusia Kingdom was destroyed. Dr. Vegapunk surmises it was the result of the Mother Flame being stolen by York and given to the World Government, which fuels his belief that the World Government is in possession of one of the Ancient Weapons of the past, though he knows he cannot tell this to the public. He does heavily blame himself for this travesty because he isolated his greed from his own mind. Dr. Vegapunk tells the two Satellites that at this point, it is impossible to stop what York has set into motion; the World Government will erase them for studying the Void Century but will spare York because she demonstrated her worth to them. Shaka tells him they could still flee, but Dr. Vegapunk instead requests a ship for the other researchers and residents, saying they cannot escape their fate. However, he says that Egghead has resources that Ohara did not have twenty-two years ago, so if he does die soon, he will do it on his own home, trying to expose the true nature of the World Government as best as possible. He apologizes to Shaka and Pythagoras for getting them involved in this, but they state they were thinking the same thing since they are him too. In addition, Dr. Vegapunk wishes to save his sky-island-manufacturing technology, the Cloud Plant, as he thinks it will be humanity's best chance to survive.
Some time later, York spotted Dr. Vegapunk fiddling around with the Iron Giant, claiming he is using the Mother Flame to try and move it. York says she hopes he will finish it soon, but deep down, Dr. Vegapunk wishes it does not. Two days later, Dr. Vegapunk records the message to the world and hides the Broadcast Den Den Mushi within it, believing no one would find it there. He also programs the message to play when he dies, and so no one else finds out what they have done, he erases his memories of the past two weeks along with Shaka and Pythagoras'. Once that is done, the amnesiac Dr. Vegapunk finds a letter he left for himself beforehand informing him that the World Government knows he was studying the Void Century but he has put together the ultimate countermeasure before he dies. Some time later, he learns that the Straw Hats and Bonney, Cipher Pol, the Marines, and Kizaru and Saturn have arrived.
Catching up to the siege, when Dr. Vegapunk, Atlas, Franky, and Sanji were on their way to save Bonney, Dr. Vegapunk informs Sanji that he has chosen to stay on the lower level despite knowing he will die, but he insists that something world-shaking will happen when he does. Finally, he tells Sanji that he hopes the Straw Hats find the One Piece. Speaking of, Usopp and Luffy are extremely excited that they are going to Elbaph after all this time, though Luffy is extremely exhausted.
Chapter 1124
Morgans is ecstatic about Dr. Vegapunk's speech to the world, as it gives him the chance to spread fear and despair through the news which everyone will eat up because he is the only source of information there is. Vivi scolds him for this behavior and points out how Dr. Vegapunk spoke of hope in the future, but Morgans threatens to expose where she is if she does not stop telling him how to do his job. Vivi remains firm in her stance, though, prompting Wapol to try and calm her down by reminding her they will not have anywhere else to go if they anger him too much. Still, Morgans admits he does not mind telling everyone that the world is going to sink too, but he personally is not affected since he lives in the air. Once again, Vivi refuses to back down against Morgans as he starts listing off potential headlines: Blackbeard vs. Law, Shanks vs. Kid, and Luffy having killed Dr. Vegapunk himself, which Vivi knows is not true.
On Egghead, Sakazuki tries to contact someone about the situation, while Sentomaru escapes and heads out to sea on a rowboat. Kizaru picks up the Den Den Mushi and tells Sakazuki that everyone is unconscious, but he promises to give him a full report about the events on the island once everyone is awake. Sakazuki tells Kizaru he hopes he did not do a sloppy job, but Kizaru asks him if he has ever killed a close friend, as Kizaru thinks back to when he first met Dr. Vegapunk, having been sent to "arrest" him, but Dr. Vegapunk knew it was just a cover to exploit his intellect. He also remembered helping Dr. Vegapunk create Egghead Island. With tears in his eyes, Kizaru angrily tells Sakazuki to come down to Egghead to see for himself whether or not Kizaru messed up, which causes Sakazuki to relent.
On the Thousand Sunny, which is tethered to the Giants' ship, Jinbe tells Franky he did not expect Luffy to be so depressed he failed to save the Stella. Franky admits with everything they encountered on the island, from meeting the Five Elders, to dealing with Kizaru, CP0, the Seraphim, and a whole blockade of battleships, he still cannot believe they were barely able to escape. Zoro, who was also on the ship, cruelly calls Luffy pathetic for getting all mopey over Dr. Vegapunk's death. Speaking of, Lilith wakes up on the Giants' ship, surrounded by Usopp, Chopper, Nami, and Sanji. The four of them deeply apologize to Lilith for being only able to save her, but she says she has heard the whole story, which confuses everyone. After taking a minute to cry, Lilith says she is hungry, but when she goes to the table, she sees Luffy sadly eating, upset he could not keep his word to Dr. Vegapunk. Lilith tells everyone that she cried earlier because she was sad about everyone's deaths, but she then tells them they only "died" by their concept. According to Lilith, the Stella and the other Satellites (sans York) are still alive. Though her words still confuse everyone, she says the main point is that Luffy did somewhat keep his promise, so he should cheer up.
Sure enough, Luffy perks up and thanks the Giants for coming to their rescue before beginning their proper feast. When the Giants ask Luffy who he thinks will become the Pirate King and claim the One Piece, Luffy proudly states it will be him. With that, the ship makes its way to Elbaph, where someone seems to be waiting for Luffy to arrive.
Chapter 1125
The Cipher Pol agents prepare to load up the Seraphim once they finish charging, but just as they are about to decide what to do with the Sea Beast Weapons and Pacifista, Lucci and Kaku return to their ship, but when one agent asks where Stussy is, Lucci says she was killed by him.
Elsewhere, Saturn tells the nine Vice Admirals that they were able to acquire everything they came to get at Egghead: York, Punk Records, and the power station, all of which will secure them access to the Mother Flame. However, despite the results, he feels they had a critical misstep. The Vice Admirals believe he is talking about letting Luffy and Bonney escape and request permission to chase them to Elbaph. Saturn, however, denies this, stating that the failure he was referring to was allowing Dr. Vegapunk’s message to play, not to mention the Iron Giant aiding in the pirate’s escape, which Saturn finds ironic. It turns out, roughly 200 years ago, it was Saturn himself who ordered the robot to be spared and studied for the sake of bulking their military might. Doberman speaks up and asks Saturn if what Dr. Vegapunk said in his message is true if he considers it a failure it was played, but Saturn injures Doberman in response, prompting all of the other Vice Admirals to clamor to find a medic. On Egghead, York realizes that the Cloud Plant will not stop producing clouds. Deducing this to be the work of Edison, she shoots at the factory from afar, but it is too late; the clouds have lifted Punk Records high into the air, far out of the reach of York and the World Government.
In Mary Geoise, the World Nobles are panicking over their dwindling food supply, not to mention they are outraged by Dr. Vegapunk’s message and Sakazuki’s inability to handle Kuma’s escape. As for the other Elders, they are surprised when Garling enters their room wearing a new outfit, similar to theirs. Garling tells them that he has been given new orders, which is revealed to be that he is now the new Warrior God of Science and Defense, and therefore, York will be answering to him. His words, however, worry the four of them.
Sure enough, on Egghead, Saturn falls to his knees in pain as a black substance starts flowing out of his body, while the Vice Admirals start panicking over what to do to help him. All they can do, though, is watch in horror as he starts shriveling. Saturn quickly realizes this is Imu’s doing, as they are angry he let “Joy Boy” escape. Saturn begs for Imu’s mercy, claiming the power of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika was too unpredictable, but his pleas fall on deaf ears as a massive explosion comes from Saturn’s body, reducing him to a skeleton, to the shock of the Vice Admirals.
On Punk Records, Edison communicates with the rest of the destroyed Satellites, who survived their bodies' destructions and now inhabit Edison's body. Shaka and Atlas lament they could not bring the Fabriophase with them due to York’s meddling, while Pythagoras states that York can still upload what she learns to Punk Records from afar. However, doing it this way ensures they can keep it safe and ready for when the world can have access. They will have to be careful from here on out since everyone believes them to be dead, and they will not be able to build anything without resources, but they decide to leave that to their partners. By that point, the combined Vegapunk finishes assembling his new body, which combines parts of Edison, Shaka, Atlas, and Pythagoras, and they get in contact with Weatheria.
In the Kamabakka Kingdom, the Revolutionary Army discusses Dr. Vegapunk’s message. Sabo realizes that the reason why the first World Nobles chose to live atop the Red Line was because it is the highest point in the world, keeping them safe from the rising sea. Ivankov also realizes that Tequila Wolf, Vodka Wolf, Rum Wolf, and Bourbon Wolf were created for the same reason. As for Dragon, he says that people who heard Dr. Vegapunk’s message will act out of self-interest and not out of peace, and therefore, they need to win before people start fighting each other over land.
Chapter 1126
As the party goes on, Oimo and Kashii reveal to the Straw Hats that they went to Little Garden to pick up the captains not long after they left Water 7. When they got there, they were surprised to see them fighting with nothing but their bare fists due to their weapon’s destruction. Because of that, the two wound up convincing Dorry and Brogy to return with them to Elbaph to get new weapons, but they still intend to continue fighting, which Nami finds unbelievable. Still, everyone continues to enjoy themselves as they sail to Elbaph.
A month ago on Gartel Island, the Red Hair Pirates have subjugated the Barto Club as payback for infiltrating their territory and burning their flag. Shanks tells the chained up Bartolomeo that many islands rely on his flag, and if he just let this incident slide, the people would lose faith in him, which would put his allies in danger. Bartolomeo apologizes to Shanks for his thoughtlessness as Hongo presents Bartolomeo with a poison that is said to cause immense pain and erupting blood from those who ingest it, and tells him to give it to Luffy within a month, calling it equal compensation.
Instead, Bartolomeo drinks the poison himself, to the horror of his crew. Bartolomeo states Luffy never asked him to share the sake or take up his flag, so he should not get him involved in this mess that has nothing to do with him nor should it. He sobs over his inability to see Luffy become the Pirate King and entrusts everything to his crew, but he unexpectedly burps instead. It turns out that poison Bartolomeo drank was fake, and with that realization, the Barto Club immediately high-tail it out of there, with Bartolomeo calling Shanks softer than he expected. On the island, Beckman asks Shanks why he is smiling, and Shanks says it is because Bartolomeo is so dedicated to Luffy. Yasopp then appears and shoots at the Going Luffy-senpai from afar, stating they still need to teach Bartolomeo a lesson. The Barto Club’s ship explodes and sinks, with the crew’s fate left unknown.
On Hachinosu, Blackbeard has returned and is outraged that Pizarro let Koby and Moria escape, especially with how the world is teetering towards all-out war. Despite his rage, the other pirates are all fired up to find the One Piece and conquer the world, which he aims to capitalize. In addition, though Koby escape, Kuzan was able to capture Garp, though he was trying to actually kill him. Furthermore, Blackbeard now has Pudding, intending to exploit her mysterious abilities. He then contacts Laffitte, who is at the Umit Shipping company's HQ.
Blackbeard asks Laffitte what the Revolutionary Army is up to, and he reports that the Bondolas keep breaking down every time it’s loaded with food and all supply shipments have stopped as well, meaning their siege is working and the World Nobles might actually be in danger, all of which he finds very amusing. Blackbeard tells him to get ready as Devon and Augur then arrive with Caribou.
Two days following the Giants’ departure from Egghead, the crew has yet to arrive at Elbaph, and that is because the Thousand Sunny, Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper have disappeared without a trace, leaving everyone in a panic. Elsewhere, Nami wakes up in a strange room made of studded blocks wearing a viking-like outfit.
Chapter 1127
In the mysterious land, the people try to put out a fire before it spreads to Yggdrasil, the World Tree. In addition, several large bees have been falling from the tree, clearly having been injured, which confuses the people even more, and they think about reporting this to the "Sun God". They also say that their Ear God has fallen, which is a shock to them because they consider it a giant.
Elsewhere, in what is known as Bigstein Castle, Nami has taken down one of the giant bees with help from Zeus. She desperately starts crying for her crewmates to save her as she has no idea where she currently is or how she got here. Suddenly, she hears Usopp's voice and starts heading towards him, but she trips over the bumpy floor and comes face-to-face with a giant hedgehog, which while cute startles her. The hedgehog, in turn, gets startled too and begins to angrily chase her. Nami does find Usopp, but he too is being attacked by a large animal, in this case a giant cat. The hedgehog catches up to Nami as she extends Zeus to zap it, while also falling in the process. Thankfully, Nami lands on the cat as the hedgehog gets zapped, and it falls onto the cat, also zapping it.
Unfortunately, this only enrages the cat, and it starts chasing Nami and Usopp as the two try to get their bearings. Usopp tells Nami that like her, he just woke up in the castle wearing a new outfit, but they both remember they were drinking a special type of alcohol given to them by the Giants on the ship, which they said is powerful enough to cause hallucinations. Eventually, the two reach a dead end, but Usopp becomes convinced that the cat chasing them is a hallucination and everything else is a dream, which makes him confident he will be okay, only for the cat to actually hit him, proving that it is not an illusion.
The cat's attack pushes the two off the edge. After they land, they see the cat has now transformed into a lion. Nami ends up using Usopp as a shield to protect her, much to his displeasure. Thankfully, however, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji finally appear and simultaneously take out the lion with their Gomu Gomu no Elephant Whip, Kokujo O Tatsumaki and Épaule Strike, respectively, and the lion turns back into a cat as it passes out. Luffy says he will not eat the cat because the rabbit they ate was filling enough while Sanji comforts Nami, who claims that Usopp is dead now, which is not true. Luffy says that the other animals in the castle are tasty, they should try hunting them, but Zoro points out that locating the ship and the rest of the crew takes priority. Sanji, meanwhile, states they should exploit the giant bees they encountered, but Nami is left incredulous by how nonchalant everybody is regarding their new situation, once again asking where they are right now.
Chapter 1128
Sanji deduces he is not dreaming because there are men present as everyone hops down from the castle, while Zoro reveals he woke up on the other side of town, following the sound of Luffy eating the giant rabbit. Luffy tells Usopp he could have beaten that giant cat, but he claims it woke him up when it tried to eat him, which freaked him out.
Usopp tells everyone that though they are wearing Elbaph clothes, it is impossible the country would have clothes that can fit humans. To get to the bottom of this, the crew decide to find some people in town and ask where they are. They come across a man riding a giant grasshopper but when they ask him questions, he tells them he cannot answer because he is in a hurry. The only thing he does tell the crew is that they are in the "Land of Gods", which is ruled by someone the people call the "Sun God". The man also tells the crew that he serves the ruler of Bigstein Castle, Iscat, which the crew realizes is the giant cat they fought earlier. Luffy tries telling the man he accidentally beat it up, but Usopp covers his mouth so he does not say anything that will upset the man. The man says the "Needle God" should be hungry right about now, no doubt referring to the giant hedgehog Nami zapped, and he is running late because the "Ear God", which is the rabbit, was burned to death, with Usopp once again trying to stop Luffy from admitting he ate it while the crew whistle like they had nothing to do with it. The man warns the crew to never venture in the other direction of the castle, for in that direction is the Sun God's temple, guarded by vicious soldiers. His words, however, prompt Luffy to run off in said direction for adventure.
Nami thanks the man for all the information and apologizes for everything else, while the others start chasing after Luffy, all the while taking note of how there seem to be no homes and a castle that resembles the one they were just in. Luffy sees someone running towards him also wearing Elbaph clothes, but he assumes he can just run past him. What it actually was was his reflection in a mirror, which he crashes into. Doing so causes the "sky" to crack and the mirror to shatter, revealing a netted door. It turns out that this blocky kingdom is just a diorama in a giant-sized room, and this room means the Straw Hats are not on the Giants's ship anymore because it didn't have such a room. Everyone then hears someone calling for help, who turns out to be Chopper.
Cutting through the door, Chopper reunites with everyone, giving Nami a hug, which she says means he owes her. Usopp and Zoro notice several other human-sized clothes, indicating they were made for dolls, and Luffy sees more blocks lying around while Sanji observes that the mirror they broke is see-through on the other side, meaning others can look into the set, but the people within cannot. He also suggests installing those types of mirrors in the girls' cabin, earning a kick to the face from Nami for offering that.
With all of this information, Zoro deduces a giant built this diorama and put several humans and giant animals into it for entertainment. Usopp takes this as a sign that they have made it to Elbaph since the room is giant, but Nami is skeptical. Chopper suggests they leave now while they still can but Usopp says they should go back into the set and ask for more clues. However, everyone's attention is turned to the arrival of the temple guards the man spoke of earlier, which consist of a giant snake, three giant mice, and a giant raven, all of which Luffy starts fighting. As they fight, the Sun God mentioned before walks into the room and is left horrified by the Straw Hats fighting the animals and having set the room on fire in the process.
After Luffy defeats all of the guards in his Gear 5 form, the crew start running from the Sun God and come across the Iscat, which Luffy forces to give them a ride. Nami then shows everyone she found a blueprint to the block set, and they use it to make for the exit, all the while the Sun God angrily chases after them for destroying his kingdom, declaring he will not let any of them escape.
Chapter 1129
The people beg the Sun God to calm down because of the damage that has already been brought to the Land of Gods, but he yells he can never forgive this wrong against him. As for the Straw Hats, Luffy becomes impressed by the time the Sun God put into creating this block world, so he tries to avoid destroying it while the crew makes their escape. Luffy then asks where they are going as Nami reminds him they are following the blueprints she picked up, though she quickly discards it, explaining she memorized the entire thing, and as long as they keep going straight, they’ll reach the exit.
The Sun God pulls out a net made of steel wire and traps the Straw Hats with it, revealing to them that the room they are in is a detention center, and it was designed to keep even giants from escaping, so their attempts are futile. However, the Straw Hats are undeterred, as Zoro and Sanji easily cut through the net, allowing the crew to continue running. Though shocked they cut through, the Sun God tells them up ahead is the domain of the Ear God, but he sees its skeletal remains, leaving him in disbelief they took it out, revealing it was actually a rabbit called a "Glutbunny".
After that, the Sun God starts laughing maniacally, musing how his "little walled garden" has taken a life of its own since he brought the Straw Hats to it, but while he says Hajrudin may acknowledge Luffy, he himself does not. As for the other people, they start plotting to escape the Land of Gods while the Sun God is preoccupied. Usopp uses Midori Boshi: Dokuro Bakuhatsu So to break the mirror, but he was unable to break the wall behind it. Luffy prepares to shatter it as the Sun God continues to laugh at what he sees as weaklings fighting against their own powerlessness. As Luffy prepares to use Gear Fourth, Nami tells Usopp how much the Sun God has enraged her, with Sanji agreeing, though he agrees because he thinks the Sun God is a pervert who undressed Nami to put her in her outfit. However, she calms him down saying he is due for some "divine punishment".
In a flashback, it is revealed that the Sun God is actually Road, the navigator for the New Giant Warrior Pirates. He sent his raven, Muginn, out and it returned with the Thousand Sunny, with the Straw Hats on board asleep. Road figures that they fell asleep when they sailed through the Sleeping Mist Zone, but he comes to see this as an opportunity because he was against Hajrudin swearing loyalty to Luffy, a human, considering them inferior to giants like himself. When they started to stir awake, Road quickly put them back to sleep and put them in his set, thus explaining the events from before.
As Road continues to gush over having the Straw Hats be his "living dolls" forever, Nami uses Zeus to zap him, leaving him temporarily immobilized. Luffy then punches through the wall, allowing the crew to finally escape. Usopp expresses hope that Elbaph is on the other side, and Luffy smiles when he looks outside.
Chapter 1130
On the Great Eirik, Franky tells the Giants to cease the search for Luffy’s group, as he is confident that despite them not being here, they are still alive. Robin adds that they have done all they can do for now so they should just head for Elbaph and wait for them. Jinbe agrees, stating that his shark network is exhausted from searching, and Brook reminds them that they are out of food. The Giants accept these reasons and set course for Elbaph.
Speaking of Luffy’s group, the six of them managed to escape the room, where they see a giant tree and several giant snowy mountains, with a large rope bridge connecting the castle they were just in to another location upwards. They see two giants crossing the bridge, who turn out to be Gerd and Goldberg, the respective doctor and cook of the New Giant Warrior Pirates. Gerd asks Goldberg why Hajrudin let Road into their crew, with Goldberg saying it is because he is a good navigator. Gerd, however, expresses her dislike of Road, saying that while Loki is the “Shame of Elbaph”, she thinks Road deserves that title more, with Goldberg agreeing with her.
Gerd asks her owl, Piper, if she saw Road’s crow carrying a ship to the castle, which she confirms. Goldberg says they are supposed to arrest intruders, but Road keeps smuggling them into the country, to which if they find them, they will report to Jarul. Meanwhile, Luffy’s group hides from the two, and Usopp deduces from their conversation that they have indeed reached Elbaph. Luffy prepares to call out to them but Nami stops him out of fear that they will consider them intruders. Gerd and Goldberg turn to where the crew was when they hear something but they see nothing, so they continue to the castle.
The Straw Hats continue to walk on the rope bridge, though they try to be careful because there are giant wolves below. Luffy, however, senses something that gives him goosebumps. He tells everyone he heard something back in the diorama and he decides to go on ahead to check it out.
Back out at sea, the Giant Warrior Pirates are shocked to learn that the papers are reporting them as the attackers of Egghead. In addition, Dorry and Brogy’s bounties have both jumped up to 1,800,000,000 Belly, even though the both of them do not consider themselves back. Also, Luffy is being blamed for killing Dr. Vegapunk, with a picture of him in Gear Fifth being used in the paper. Interestingly, Robin notices an “X” mark on his arm, which she did not notice him having when he changes into his awakened form. Also, while the image of Luffy is blurry, the mark is very clear, but the group decides not to worry about it despite its familiarity to Robin.
Dorry and Brogy are impressed that Luffy is now on the same level as Shanks, and express pride that Hajrudin has sworn loyalty to him, even revealing that he is the son of the king of Elbaph. They also reveal that he personally wanted to come and save the Straw Hats, but Dorry and Brogy’s seniority beat him out. The giants do admit there is trouble in Elbaph currently, to the crew’s surprise.
The Giants explain that long ago, Elbaph had a prince who they called the “Accursed Prince”. According to them he devoted himself to darkness and was crucified, and when he attempted to escape Elbaph, everyone worked together to subdue him. Jinbe begins suspecting the prince’s name as the Giants continue, revealing that he killed his own father, King Harald, in order to acquire a Devil Fruit that had been passed down among the royal family, and that if he ever escapes imprisonment, it will be the end of Elbaph.
Sure enough, the prince the Giants were talking about was Loki, who Luffy ends up finding after leaving the group, the former’s intense Haki being what Luffy sensed. Loki senses Luffy despite his eyes being blindfolded and has him introduce himself, which Luffy does. Luffy asks where they are and who he is, and Loki says they are in Elbaph, which he calls the land where wars come from. He also introduces himself as the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world.
Chapter 1131
Luffy is ecstatic to learn he has reached Elbaph after longing to see it for some time. He starts talking about how he had never seen so many giants together in one place on the Greak Eirik and he hopes Usopp figures out they have made it too once he climbs up the giant tree. As he was talking, an irate Loki finally gets Luffy's attention after trying to speak to him, while also informing Luffy that as he is in the presence of the "Sun God", he is to not speak without his permission, as Loki's title is shown, revealing that the World Government put a special bounty of 2,600,000,000 Belly on him.
Loki asks Luffy what he makes of his current predicament, and Luffy obviously states he is chained up. Loki states he wishes to be freed as he has been chained up for six years, and while he considers himself the strongest Giant in Elbaph, the tree he is chained to is Treasure Tree Adam, the sturdiest tree in existence, and in addition, the chains are made of Seastone, which inhibit his Devil Fruit powers. Knowing Luffy is a pirate, Loki asks him that if he frees him, he will destroy a rival pirate crew of his choice. Of course, Loki says he will not force Luffy to do anything, but with that said, he reveals their particular location is called the "Underworld" of Elbaph, where those judged as criminals are sentenced to and is surrounded by ginormous beasts who will destroy anyone, though Loki states the beasts are all his friends, and therefore, if Luffy does not do as Loki says, the beasts will kill him. However, when Luffy sees the beasts, he reminisces of his time on Rusukaina instead.
Several humans appear as well, who Loki says tried to fight Elbaph only to be defeated and sentenced here, with them all wearing stinking robes to ward off the beasts, though they seem to be loyal to Loki. The men hope that they will not be knocked unconscious like last time because of Shanks, but hearing his name gets Luffy's attention, just as he tames the beasts himself to the astonishment of the men and Loki. Luffy asks if Shanks really did come to Elbaph, and sensing his admiration of him, Loki calls him a "cowardly" pirate. Angered by this, Luffy immediately changes to Gear Fourth and tries to punch Loki, who swiftly moves his head to avoid the attack. Loki tells Luffy he was only joking, but Luffy angrily tells Loki to never joke like that again. As for Loki, he thinks to himself that the minute he is free, he will kill Luffy for attacking him while defenseless. Once he calms down, Luffy asks Loki why Shanks was in Elbaph and if he is still here, but Loki says he will not give him that information for free.
Meanwhile, with Zoro's group, the five of them are still climbing the rope bridge up the tree, but Usopp sees from afar that Road is running behind him, deducing he was the Sun God because he looks like he was zapped by lightning. Also, Gerd and Goldberg are chasing after him, with the latter carrying the Thousand Sunny in his hands. Zoro considers fighting back, but Usopp stops him, saying they could be friends with Dorry and Brogy, so they should instead run to the nearest village for safety and answers. Elsewhere, Hajrudin and Stansen have taken down a giant moose for its meat, intending the serve it to the Straw Hats.
On the Great Eirik, Brook has just finished giving Robin a haircut, though he was quite nervous due to it being his first time. However, he is told he did a great job as Robin's hair now looks how it did two years ago. Dorry and Brogy learn it is because it was how she looked when she first met Saul, while Franky, Oimo, and Kashii feel nostalgic because it reminds him of when they first met. The crew then finally arrive at Elbaph, but elsewhere, a giant yells that Saul has fallen and cannot get up.
Chapter 1132
A young boy named Colon alerts everyone that the Great Eirik has returned and he asks if they are going directly to the pub. Brogy denies and tells him that instead they plan on heading straight up to what they call the "Sun World". A woman gives Colon a basket to deliver to Ripley and their father as the young boy asks if the woman knows anything about the pirate Dorry and Brogy have brought, recalling how Shanks told him Luffy's name and how he should remember it.
A rainbow then appears leading up to the giant tree and the Great Eirik starts sailing for it. The Straw Hats are amazed to see such a beautiful rainbow as Brogy explains they made the rainbow using something called a "painter". The ship then starts sailing up the rainbow to reach the villages, but the Straw Hats are dumbfounded that they are riding something that cannot even be touched, but for the Giants, it is perfectly normal and possible. Hajurdin and Stansen then start sailing next to the Great Eirik and ask if Luffy is with them, but they are told he will be coming later.
As for Luffy, he makes his way back up onto the rope bridge leading up the tree and lands in Gerd's hands. Gerd explains to Luffy what Road did and apologizes for it while Goldberg asks Luffy what he was doing down in the Underworld. Luffy thinks back to his last conversation with Loki, revealing that the Giant told Luffy not to tell anyone they spoke or the promise they made. Luffy tries to come up with an explanation but his terrible lying habit end up worrying the two Giants into dropping the question, just expressing relief he made it to Elbaph safely.
In the Sun World, Road catches up to the rest of the crew and tries to grab Nami and Chopper, only for Zoro and Sanji to knock a tree on top of him. Gerd, Goldberg, and Luffy arrive on the scene, and Gerd and Goldberg angrily strike Road and knock him out. Afterwards, Gerd and Goldberg introduce themselves to the rest of the crew and offer to become their guides, though Luffy and Usopp immediately run off to the village while the rest go with Gerd and Goldberg. As for the crew riding the rainbow, Brogy explains how Elbaph is broken up into three levels: the Underworld, the Sun World, and the highest level, the Heaven World, and their current destination is the Sun World. The crew reach the top and locate Luffy and the rest, though as the Sunny crew expected, he is absolutely floored that they are riding a rainbow, but nevertheless, everyone is thrilled to be back together again.
At the end, a narration from the explorer Louis Arnote, who recounts his experience in Elbaph, but he leaves a cryptic warning for travelers to not overstay their welcome.
Chapter 1133
After Ohara was destroyed, Spandine told the newspaper that its destruction “haunts” him, especially after the evacuation ship with all of the civilians was destroyed too. However, he pinned it all on Robin, claiming she is a demon disguised as an eight-year-old. The World Government never reported the full story of what happened, claiming if they did it would traumatize children everywhere, but if Robin is found anywhere, her location is to be reported immediately. Thanks to this, people everywhere started hunting her for the bounty on her head or fully believing she is an evil person that should die, and it almost drove Robin to throwing herself off a cliff, but the memories of her mother and Saul compelled her to keep living no matter how scared she was or how much it hurt.
In the present, the Straw Hats are amazed to see a port on the tree and sea clouds for their ships to sail on just as the Great Eirik makes port. Luffy’s group make their way downwards on a mist ship while Lilith marvels at the many technological wonders that they have combined. Once the Straw Hats reunite, Nami compliments Robin on her haircut while Luffy re-acquaints himself with Hajrudin, who introduces the rest of his crew to him, with Road having been crucified as punishment for his actions. Hajrudin even reveals how everyone was thrilled to hear Big Mom had fallen, but Luffy tells Hajrudin to save the talking for after their feast.
However, before the Straw Hats can enjoy themselves, Robin tells Luffy she wants to find Saul first, and the rest of the crew decide to accompany her with Gerd guiding them. The Straw Hats learn that Saul is Elbaph’s history professor who resides at the Owl Library in Warrior Springs, though the crew note it looks more like a beach. Once they land, someone comes running towards everyone saying Saul has fallen and cannot get up, which annoys the Straw Hats since they came to fetch him. Robin, though, is unconcerned.
Sure enough, once Robin gets close, Saul tries spooking her, having been pretending to collapse because he did not know what to say to Robin after all these years, so he figured he could surprise her with a joke instead, though it had no effect. Regardless, he picks Robin up and brings her closer to his face, where he comments she looks just like Olvia now, which Robin is deeply touched by. Saul asks Robin if she heard Dr. Vegapunk’s message to the world and how he considers it Ohara’s legacy and praised the late scientist for risking his life for the sake of preserving its existence.
Robin asks Saul if his scars hurt, but he states he turned out to be tougher than even he thought, because while he was frozen, the fire of the island melted him free and he fell into the ocean. He later found out that Robin had successfully escaped the island, but he was furious by the lies that were written about her in the paper. Robin, however, tells Saul she does not want to focus on the dark stuff now; instead she wants Saul to praise her for being alive. Saul does indeed as he hugs her and tearfully thanks her for making it all the way here to him. In turn, Robin breaks down into tears saying she missed him, which he says he missed her too.
As for the Straw Hats, most of them (with the exception of Zoro and Jinbe) are shown crying their eyes out from the heartwarming reunion, while Luffy looks on with a big smile on his face.
