On a stormy morning at the partly damaged X-Mansion, Wolverine is trying to convince Professor X that Xavier isn’t wholly responsible for the actions of Onslaught. Wolverine points out that the origin of Onslaught only came about when Xavier wiped the mind of Magneto after Magneto had nearly killed Wolverine by magnetically ripping the Adamantium out of Logan’s body. However nothing seems to convince Xavier and he suggests that he has caused more damage to relations between mutants and humans than any of the foes that the team has faced.

Wolverine continues to try and reason with Xavier, suggesting that all the good done by Xavier over the years, including all the mutants he’s helped, can’t be outweighed by Onslaught’s actions. Logan equates his own inner demons with Xavier’s, but Xavier suggests that there is no comparison as Logan struggles to control his animalistic side, an effort that lots of people do every day, whilst Xavier had the power to read or control minds if he wished to. Logan accuses Xavier of belittling Logan’s inner demons being an attempt to push him away, something Logan has often done to people himself.
Meanwhile at Central Park, Bastion watches as reporters and news cameras document an impromptu press conference from Presidential candidate Graydon Creed taking place in a crater caused by the final battle with Onslaught. Amongst the gathered journalists is Peter Parker who is disgusted as Creed uses the loss of some of Parker’s friends to continue his campaign against mutants as part of his Presidential bid.
